Are the LEDS you are buying dimmable? I guess this only applies to the two dome lights.

I think I should note that the red LED bulbs I bought for taillights were not the powerful directional bulbs, but the most powerful non-directional bulbs that spread the light. Since the taillight housing is mirrored, that worked the best, has a nice truer red color than the orangish red stock and are about the same brightness as stock. I bought yellow for signal lights. Even when the lenses are yellow, the yellow bulbs work better.
I tried LEDs for the back up lights but they were not bright enough. Maybe they will offer bright bulbs soon.
I prefered the warm white color, for the same reason I buy warm white flourescent bulbs.

Tail light number is incorrect. And you need the most powerful red LED that spreads the light (multiple LEDs, on end, sides).

So, is it the same bulb for the front courtesy light as it is for the map lights? I was a little puzzled by
    Map light 168/194/T-10 (8W)
    Front Dome Light 194, 158, 168, 2825

which didn't quite seem the same thing.

Piece of cake! Here's what I did in the Rav4EV. All LEDs are independently controllable (you can use the aimable one as your dome light) and they are all dimmable, and will all shut off after 15 minutes no matter how they were turned on.

Yup, right here on evnut.com. No other site had this accurate, so with the help of others, I made my own list:

    Somebody did. But I stopped.
    Prius LED purchase
Brightest? Yes. Durable? Yes. Too expensive for most? Yes. Too expensive for me to build and stock? Yes.

    Darell,
what about the front dome/courtesy light? Is it the same bulb as the Map light?
    (168/194/T-10 (8W))
I'm assuming "Vanity light" refers to the two above the mirrors.

All three bulbs in the front fixture are the same. So the front dome is the same as the maps. I should make that more clear for sure!

Yup. The ones above the sun shades that have several switches.

From what I've seen, the wattage on otherwise-similar bulbs vary. E.g.,
Map light and front dome: 168/194/T-10 (8W)
    Step/Courtesy light: 168/194/T-10 (5W)

Since LEDs have different power draws than incandescent, does it matter what sort of LED you put in their place--i.e., would the map and step lights be interchangeable? Any 168/194 fixture would work in either? Or should the LEDs be designed to emulate their original more closely and somehow take the original power draw into account? I would think that the map/front courtesy lights could therefore be brighter than similar LEDs for the step/courtesy lights, but I could be wrong.

Also, more generally: I've seen the surface-mount LEDs, where there are multiple LEDs set flush against five sides of the fixture (top and the four sides). Would that be a negative for the front courtesy/map lights--would the four side LEDs' light be lost?

Just wanted to add my 2 cents on superbrights led's that I just recently purchased.

For the front dome/map lights I got T10-PCB-Wxx White LED Lamp.
The maps are 24 light, brighter than the incandescent, and a nice "white" light. For the center dome I got the 36 light. VERY bright. Very happy overall with these lights. I used a modified version of jbdan's nylon wire tie method to hold them in place. I just used one tie for all three, if it doesn't rattle I keep it that way. If they do, I will used jbdan's method that he displays in his great pics!:)

I also got the High Power 2 LED Festoon bulb Warm White 3022-WWHP2.Good thing it was only $6.95 because it is very disappointing. For one thing, it doesn't quite fit. It is ever so slightly longer than the original bulb, I jammed it in there but I am not sure it will stay. And I swear it provides less light than the incadescent. Only slightly more "white" but very dim. High Power? I don't think so.:(

I will say that superbrightleds.com is very quick on delivery after you place an order, very impressive. :cheer2:
I would be interested in hearing details from anyone that has replaced the puddle lights and the cargo light. I took both of those apart and it looks like it would require some modification. Doesn't look like you can just plug in the new bulb. So if you have changed those out please post about it or pm me. Thanks!

Also, do a search of the mods forum for a thread started by user jbdan he posted some great info and some pics as well.

They are a strictly decorative item. They will be too dim to drive by.
