    I concur.

I've had to sort through multiple 2005 articles claiming to be for the 2006. The truth is that Toyota has been pretty hush-hush aobut the 2006 Prius. It puzzles me quite a bit; however, keeping quiet so long, just fuels PriusChat.com and other sites like it. Perhaps we're just playing directly into their hands...

Strange indeed, if correct, Jack. Where did you learn that?

My '06 Toyota standard features/options pdf print out shows
"classis silver metallic" 1F7 as the only silver listed, except for silver pine mica you mentioned. What is the pine shade?

No suggestion of Millenium silver. Could this be a misunderstanding? Emmett said earlier, Classic is not new, just renamed.

Total 8 color choices. "Toyota dealers will be able to order any or all of the packages. I think this refers only to color packages, presumably with interior color choices (available with most colors).

In deference to earlier posters (Unique 2006), this list indeed states that Magnetic Grey will not be available until April production (May/JUne delivery?).

I'm still confused by the interior code of "08" under Seaside Pearl.

My Standard/options sheet shows 8S2 for Seaside Pearl.

    Hope that helps.

Sorry - I was referring to the Interior code next to Seaside Pearl. Every other color has interior codes of 11 and 41 (11 = Gray, 41 - Beige). See below.

My sheet (obtained from dealer a few days ago) shows G/B for Seaside Pearl, meaning you theoretically have a choice. I have not seen numeric codes for interior finish before.

My list (undated) shows Magnetic Grey available only in Grey, Driftwood Pearl only in only in Beige. Evidently something changed.

Do you have a complete list of the numeric codes & its date? It might be worth matching them up with the options list codes I have.

The only thing I have to go from is the PDF in this thread. Sorry.

If you think you got it bad, Toyota Canada hasn't released a single thing about the 06 Prius. No pics (although we could just look it up on the US site), no specs, pricing, options, nada.

I'm starting to think that the first thing we're going to hear for sure about the '06 will come in the form of a "Just picked up my 2006 Barcelona Red pkg #8 today" post...

I think a much more concerning problem (according to my wife) is my obsession aobut the Prius. She's scared. Very, very scared.

Some more info - just an FYI mainly. I spoke with the distribution manager of my local dealership about the 2006 Prius today. She was pretty hush-hush about options and the available packages, but she did indicate for sure that she would not be able to order the 2006's until the beginning of December.

Do I think that this will change somewhat? Yes. When the final pricing and packages are released for the 2006's, I think she'll change her tune.

I did find out, however, that I'm 3rd on the list for a 2006. Very exciting.

I mentioned waitng until 2006 for the tax credit. She didn't seem to know much about it except that it may not be in my best interest to wait. From that line, I felt she was pretty un-imformed. We'll see.

Finally, she indicated that they receive 4 Prii per month. I think that sounds pretty low, but maybe it's average for the Midwest. I considered this dealer pretty cooperative because they had a Prius to test drive, where other dealers didn't spend the money on having a dealership test-drive.

Does anyone else in Ohio know how many cars your dealership is allocated per month?

Branstein (wish I knew your first name, hint, hint)

    Repeat after me:

    It's only a car.

    It's only a car.

    It's only a car.

I see you and I, cgraham, geologyrox and some others are going to have to hold each other's hands for awhile. Maybe we should all hook up on Yahoo Messenger and have twice-weekly T-group sessions.

I don't mind rumors. They're part of the fun. But when I hear "math error", "typo", "tore off the '05 page and used it for '06s", etc., I wanna scream.

But I should regard that as part of the fun, too, huh?

All new threads concerning this topic will be deleted. Just trying to clean up the forum a little

I think that Nov & Dec is going to be an interesting time for the dealerships to sell a 2005 Prius.

I fully expect to get a phone call from the dealership where I placed my order in September for a 2006 with one of the following 10 messages.... all of them designed to get me to purchase a 2005 from their inventory versus waiting for the 2006 I want.....

    1. 2006 Prius option/color combination you want will not be available until Spring'06.
    2. The demand is so high for the 2006 Prius that we are not sure when we will be able to get even a few to sell.
    3. Toyota will not start delivering the 2006 Prius until late January
    4. California will run out of HOV lane stickers before the 2006 model is delivered
    5. I had better take advantage of this year's tax credit because it's not clear who will qualify for next year's credit. (I gave up trying to explain to them why next year's tax credit is a better deal than this years credit)
    6. We have a large number of orders ahead of yours for a 2006 Prius
    7. Better to buy at 2005 prices before the 2006 price increases are announced.
    8. A deal just fell through on the very last 2005 Prius that we are getting this year and can sell it to you with immediate delivery.
    9. Will you buy now if we take $250 off the MSRP?
    10. Will you buy now if we take $500 off the MSRP?

I'm sure there's a few more that I have not thought of yet. Never under-estimate the cunning of a dealership with inventory sitting on their lot.

Just a note on colors. Above, someone mentioned that there will be two silvers available in 2006 (not counting the grey - I know about the grey, and I'm not mistaking silver for grey). I believe this statement to be incorrect. I remember someone posted a link here, a while back, to a website that had the 2006 Toyota colors in a chart/spreadsheet, highlighted in different colors to represent old colors, and new colors for that specific car model. As far as I recall, Metallic Silver will no longer be available for the Prius, and Classic silver is taking it's place. I have no idea what either looks like though. If anyone who is better at searching than I can find it, can you repost that link in this thread? I'd love to get a look at it again since we're getting so close...

Nope. No changes -- the message always said Magnetic Gray, not Metallic.
