Haven't posted in a long time, but was looking forward to my 200,000 mile post. I'm 7,500 miles short, and I won't get there. My car was just totaled by some jerk going 60 mph while talking on the phone. he never saw me even though everybody else was coasting along at about 15 mph (rush hour on the Dan Ryan - Chicago). Hit me, knocked me into the car ahead of me, and rear ended me a second time. $11,000.00 in damage, and my insurance company says sorry. No injuries other than a slight headache and sore neck. This car has been simply amazing, and I think it saved my life or at least prevented serious injury. The car was in excellent shape. Nothing wrong. Still had no major repairs. Lifetime mpg 52.2. 60% brakes left. Was aiming for 300,000 before replacing it.
Sorry to hear about the bad luck meeting a stupid driver. It is not uncommon for necks to hurt more in a couple of weeks than you feel now, and you may want the other insurance company to pay for PT then. So do not sign off on your health right now, just on the car.
I'm sorry. I never saw this post so didn't reply. I use Amsoil 5w30 and I get it locally at the boat detailer shop in Naples, ME near me. It's also available at some of the NAPA dealers around here.
my 05 just hit 299,999 and now the odometer stop there? does any body have one with more miles on the odometer? Please e-mail me [email protected] or 928-692-2488. I own 3 toyota prius's
I am looking at buying a 2007 Prius with 100K miles. Do they hold up like other Toyota models? I want to go another 100K.
1) Did you replace the HV battery pack? Nope 2) Did you replace the 12v lead-acid battery? Yep 3) Did you replace the hybrid transaxle fluid? Nope 4) Did you replace the brake pads? Nope 5) Your lifetime MPG (if available)? 48.7 MPG 6) How often do you change your oil? What brand / product did you use? 5k Penzoil 10-50 7) How about post a picture of 200,000 miles on ODO? another time. Save the two water pumps (engine and inverter), I've done nothing but normal maintenance: tires, oil, filters, tune up. Unbelievable CAR!
Made my 48th and final payment on my car loan just as i crossed 234,000 miles on my 2007 Prius Touring Edition. Other than regular maintenance my only "repair" bill was the front brakes at 230,000 miles. Incredible. Runs like new.
Red TOD during cornering. At 226k miles my 2006 started showing the red triangle of death during medium to hard cornering (especially to the left). Turned out it's now burning a little bit of oil between my 10k oil change intervals (Mobil 1 0 or 5-30). No big deal, I'll now be topping off the oil when my 5k service light comes on half way to my oil change. I just wanted to let others know to start checking oil levels more often around 200k miles. Coolant Inverter Recall- being replaced tomorrow, so I get a free change of my inverter coolant !!!!!
is that Mobil1 0-20 or 0-30? Anyway, seems like there should be an oil light for low oil, rather than the intermittent red triangle. Any other issues in your 226K miles?
Yes, you would think so - but there is no warning light specific to low oil level or low oil pressure for that matter. The red triangle is the only clue, and this is not much of one.
Haven't posted on here in a LONG time... but I'm at 205,000 in my 2007... bought in January of that year, so almost 4 1/2 years. No repairs other than regular maintenance (and on my third set of tires). Been amazing so far, nothing's gone wrong, battery is still working perfectly as far as I can tell, still regularly getting 46-48mpg according to the screen, and usually 450~ miles per tank. Lovin' it!
all of these 200k+ readings for a car that is 7 years old at best w/o major maintenance.....this is GREAT news! then again, it is a toyota right
My 2005 just turned 200,000. I just had the AC compressor replaced at $1,500. My best tank milage is 49.1 so far. We bought it in Dec at 185,000 and now I see it blue book value is 3 k more than we paid. We love it. I may have to do the gas engine water pump in a little while - so the dealer tells me. 1) Did you replace the HV battery pack? used dealer said he did replace some but I doubt it 2) Did you replace the 12v lead-acid battery? Not in the short time I have owned it 3) Did you replace the hybrid transaxle fluid? Should I? 4) Did you replace the brake pads? No may have been done before I got it 5) Your lifetime MPG (if available)? 49.1 for a tank. 6) How often do you change your oil? What brand / product did you use? Dealer does it 7) How about post a picture of 200,000 miles on ODO? will do
