    Are you using a TechStream-like OBD monitor to see what the car thinks it is seeing?

    Understand I'm skeptical because I know the role MG1 plays in getting ICE power to the wheels. I've also noticed the Prius limits power to the wheels as a function of speed. Tricking the engine is not enough as it is tightly coupled with the hybrid vehicle controller that operates the transaxle.

    Any addition info on the RPMs and the brushless motor brand (astro flight, revolt, turnigy, etc).

    Was that continuous or peak power (4k watts).

    What about the make/model for the compressor housing.

    Could you tell us how you chose either of the above for this application, or were they paired up as extra parts laying around?

    Personally haven't seen an e-SC (or e-turbo) before, is this type of setup common in the current modding community or even in the race circuit?

    Josh's build stalled along with mine years ago due to funds. The ECM logic is so difficult (borderline impossible) to overcome. If I had a project Prius I would abandon boost in favor of a drivetrain swap, think Camry hybrid into Prius shell.

    Hey all, I just finished installing an AEM F/Ignition Controller along with a inline wide-band sensor. This was no simple task, unfortunately no one makes a plug and play harness for our Prius' so I had to use whatever shop manuals I can find online and probe multiple wires with an oscilloscope to find the factory wires i needed to splice into.

    Did a few logged NA runs then using those logs I set up a proper voltage map to clamp the MAP and MAF sensors, pulled back the timing a couple degrees for safety and adjust the O2 voltages to run richer while boosting. Unfortunately that also didn't work. The ECU would immediately close the throttle after around 1 PSI of boost or partly close the throttle until the boost was back down to 0 PSI (gas pedal depressed 100%).

    I'm assuming there's a computer somewhere measuring the loads on the CVT transmission and if it see's usual loads it will command the ECU to close it's throttle until the loads are back to normal.

    Unless anyone else has other suggestion, I think it's not possible to properly boost our engines. :mad:

    Independently, electrically powered, rear wheels with a separate battery pack or ultra-cap bank.

    I would probably start with a rear wheel assembly and see if the shaft to the wheel encoder is large enough. It may make sense to replace it with a stronger shaft coupled to a significant motor, say 10 hp each. You'll need 14kW electronics for each and a matched, 28kW battery pack.

    Since this will essentially be a 'launch' system, it will only need less than 20 seconds duration.

    I have been actually chatting with him, Brian F. He said that he did nothing special, electrically, to get his supercharger working on his Lexus CT. According to him his CT ECU just compensated for the extra boost which is shocking to me, especially since he's pushing 300 HP at the crank.

    He's willing to sell his SC if anyone is interested.

    Strange how the CT takes it with no problem but the prius does not. Sounds like you would be the perfect candidate for the SC that's for sale

    Wow, AEM F/IC does give you some control but its still just a piggy back. Surprised with the MAF clamp it made no difference. I know one drawback to the F/IC is that it can only pull timing - never advance. Not that this would help the problem your having. Seems the Gen3 doesn't like any amount of boost at all. Which makes me wonder that Fox Marketing actually accomplished.

    They claimed with a Eaton Supercharger System, Climax Racing intake manifold, Yonaka air to water intercooler (22x9x3), 2.5 inch stainless intercooler piping, couplers and silicone hoses and Boosted factory battery power - they got 300hp... I bet that car never ran. Never saw any dyno sheet. never saw any videos of it running. I call BS.. But i'd love to be wrong...

    @2ZR JDM - any change of going to a Standalone system? I haven't even tried wiring in my Greddy EMU but i doubt it would be any different. There has to be something ... don't give up yet.

    We just need Toyota's buy in on this project... like they did for the Turbo Hybrid Highlander..320 a 25% power increase. At least there is video of that project vehicle driving.

    Interesting enough, they do use different ECM even though the engine is the same 2ZR-FXE..

    Lexus CT200h: 89661-76010
    Toyota Gen3 Prius: 89661-47590

    Wonder if the ECM swap would work..?

    We had a convo about it on sat and It basically boiled down the ecm won't work cause it's expecting to power up a ct and not a prius. @sfv41901

    Check this out fellas, idk why but it seems like the throttle slowly closes on itself on OEM setup.

    Here's some logs from a 0 to ~65 MPH, Naturally Aspirated run.

    Think then that something else is wrong if it dripping the throttle plate even under normal Normally Aspirated 0 PSI load?

    Interesting how ur AFR got rich and not lean when the throttle closed and ur engine load dropped. Mine tend to go lean under a similar situation.

    Could the drop be because the battery reaches a certain voltage level?

    That is peculiar - it is not obvious to me why it should do that. The engine load didn't do anything unusual though.

    Do you have away of measuring MG1 current?

    The current into MG1 is proportional to engine torque as it balances the PSD.
