I'm entering into fuelly and have 2 fill-ups but can't seem to remember exactly how to get the signature display or I'd add it to my existing sig.

I'm 19Rav4h and it looks like it only tracked the second fill-up.

So the PRIUS v is considerably better MPG. Is your RAV4 an AWD?

All RAV4 Hybrids here are AWD-e.

His initial mpg figures for his Rav4 are not typical, may be due to unusual issues such as tank not filled fully by dealer, then filled up by mikefocke or unusual driving conditions. I don't have the display linked, but I am using fuelly and averaging 40.5 mpg over 3900 miles. Many others are doing as well.

I'm averaging 41mpg in about 1000 miles of driving on my Rav4. I still can't seem to fill the tank correctly, it seems to leave out a couple gallons on every fill up. Like it's got the Gen2 bladder in it.

Take a look at the thread at rav4world about the fill up issue. Many, if not all, Rav4 hybrids have it.

Apparently Toyota knows about this issue and is "working on it" but the more people who report it to their dealers and Toyota directly, the better.

And absolutely with only 2 tank fill-ups by me (and at pickup and with each of my fills the needle was just over the F mark) and a lot of experimenting my MPG has not stabilized so I'd be confident it was typical. I'd want to get to many more fill ups before I'd have great confidence. Sitting with the ICE on in your driveway to run the AC while you learn all the button functions isn't good for mileage.

A gross over generalization. Its finicky to be sure, but easy enough to work with. Some people have an issue with it - is about all that can be said.

What did I over generalize? I didn't say anything about how much it bothers people. I'm not outraged or ranting and raving. I was just alerting him to a long discussion thread that could help him make his own informed decision.

I do believe that there is a design defect that may vary in the degree that it affects individual vehicles. It is something that I have never had to "work with" in any other vehicle that I have owned.

In fact, I believe that it is a generalization to say that it is easy to work with. It is easy for you, and it doesn't impair my enjoyment of the Rav4, but not everyone finds it easy.

It is especially a problem in Oregon where you can't pump your own gas and therefore can't aim the nozzle down the middle and they won't top up.

So I stand by what I said. I don't mean to come across as argumentative. Let's agree to disagree. I believe that both you and I are both committed to making positive contributions to this and other forums.

Again, generalizing. Either you do or do not, you don't speak for anyone else. I never said its easy to deal with for anyone else but me.
Since neither of us knows anything about what the issue might be, why not stick to that? Frankly I find the frenzy and hysteria over this to be pretty boring.

It doesn't make much difference to me how full the tank is as my bladder is always smaller.

Now if you want a serious problem ... my dealer didn't fill up the windshield washer fluid tank. I actually had to do it. Discovered while investigating how to open the hood and looking at fluid levels.

I hope you checked the tire pressure. They're still sneaking through from Tokyo with 50psi.

All the manufacturers send them out with that - MAZDA definitely arrive on the wharf with 50+.

Mine was indeed delivered to me with 50 psi in all four tires. Fortunately, I did check.

Dealership PDI is supposed to include lowering tire pressures. Sometimes you're just paying through the nose for someone to tick a bunch of boxes without actually doing half of them though.

OK, better MPG now. Maybe the initial glow of so much power is winding down and I'm back to a slower pace.
