It looks like the 2012 camry has 45mm offset, while the original Prius wheels are 40mm. Can you please confirm still lots of clearance with the change in offset and wider tires. Thanks.

Just purchased a set of used P205/65R16 Winter tires with steel rims from a seller on Kijiji at a very reasonable price. The wheels are in good conditions and used to be on a 2017 Camry. The clearance between the brake caliper especially the front ones and the 16" steel rims is tight, less than 5mm IMO as shown in the photo below. Other than that everything looks & runs fine. By the way, the low tire pressure warning light will light up on the display if winter tires have no matching TPMS sensors. Just ignore it and check tire pressure once every few weeks.

    Googling this:

acceptable minimum clearance between brake caliper and rim

sounds like you're "just" ok. First hit says 5mm, second 2mm.

Still, one wee rock kicking up?

Can you fit your pinky finger at all points?

Addendum: Just took a look at our Gen 3. I've got 15" Toyota Plug-In rims with snows on right now, and barely passed the pink test. got out my homemade feeler gauge set, and looks like about 7mm at most (6 was sloppy, 8 wouldn't go). And that's a rim Toyota spec'd.

(There was a member here who just about lost his mind when I mentioned the above DIY feeler gauges. I guess he thought I was using them for machine shop accuracy, god knows.)
