'11 Toyota Prius Two with Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat Head unit Upgrade!

I got mine yesterday but I need more harness for the steering wheel controls. Need to re route the backup cam and it seems to be a lot of work. He is sending me another harness. This project looks like its gonna take a while to finish up since I have things needs to prioritized.

Just ordered a nexus 7 for $79 bucks in ebay. So will use that one for now.

Hi guys, just got unit yesterday and i love it so far.

Everything work so far and most plug i got was plug n play, but seller told me i need extra cannbus for 29$ whichi didnt need. I might return it if it doesnt cost $29 to ship back...lol. For the camera i need to dig around to see if i can do a voltage step down or run a new camera to the unit. But so far its great and i like more then my stock OEM NAV unit. I made a video to show you how it operate.

Were you able to upgrade from a dual core to a quad core? Noticed you put 1.6x 4 core even though the description on aliexpress says 1.6 dual core.

 

I got mine last week but the install was on hold due to some missing harnesses. Is your steering wheel controls including temp and trip buttons, backup camera, and radio functional?

Yes. I'll post the link if u want but I was able to upgrade n pay extra 29$ more n get 16gb instead of 8 n x4 core.

 

How many harness did you have on the install? Do you have the picture of those harness?

 

I would appreciate the link, thank you! Having a little bit more ram would have been the most beneficial but this is a worthy upgrade for a little bit more money.

That's what I was thinking since it's only 29$ more n u get extra 4 cores and 8gb internal storage. My next concern is how to tap in the oem camera. I saw a thread on this but too confusing to try. Worse case I'll get the wireless backup camera.


Edit. The cool feature I like about this unit is the AirPlay feature. Wife n kids luv this unit. Happy wife happy life

 

So the canbus is on the right upper corner right? Does your steering control for trip and and temp control functional.

The canbus is the one with red box which I don't use since the one I already installed match all the oem plug n everything works beside the camera. Trip n temp works. I didn't try the usb plug in the middle console yet or the aux jack since I used YouTube n Bluetooth. The mic suck big time but still do able. Thinking about putting the mic that came with it tomorrow if I have time. Installation time about 25-45 mins


I also have zero skill on car stuff but did a lot of searching n reading. Guess I got lucky on this unit

 

So which harness did you use?

 

I'll post it tomorrow's. It's installed in the prius right now.

The unit is pretty good but the sound quality is just awful. I guess a dedicated amp will suffice.
