Are you still active on this thread, I accidently did an aux batt reverse polarity and fixed most everything with the information here from this thread successfully but I have a left over issue not discussed:

abs vsc and (!) lights came on, I did the paper clip reset successfully twice but now that no longer works to clear the lights so something is really broke and I need help finding it. After i did the reset the lights stayed off for a couple of starts but the next morning they were back. I did get one reset to work after many tries but now they will not reset anymore.

Please help if you what this could be

I think it would be most important to get a good code reader and determine exactly what codes are being thrown.

This does nothing to fix anything, all it does is give the ECU amnesia until such time as the criteria that caused the fault is once again met and triggers a code or codes in the ECU that then illuminates a light on the dash.

As mentioned you need to ask the car why it is showing the light on the dash. One way to do that, if you don't yet have a capable code scanner, is to blink the code (or codes) out on the light. This wiki article, Blink (a/k/a Flash) Codes – How to, tells you how to do that.

^ This. You can do it with the paper clip you already have. It would be an example of using that paper clip for what it's actually for.

(Actually for in the car, anyway. Outside the car, they tell me it's for holding papers together.)
