2009 Touring Package #6 bought new just hit 124,000 miles driving regularly from the San Francisco Bay Area to Sacramento. Service/oil change done at Toyota dealership every 6000-8000 miles. We changed all four tires at 60k and will probably need to do so again at 130,000. Factory recommended service done at 120,000 and added new spark plugs. All in all, it still runs excellent and there does not appear to be any changes in MPG from the day we bought it.
124,000 miles. Best car I've ever had. Bought it Nov 2010 with 90,000 miles on it. MPG really fluctuate though. Can go from the bottom of 38 mpg to the best I've seen at 52 mpg on the average. I love my Pirus. Have not had one single problem with it, only had inside air filter replaced. Of course oil changes and new tires.
104,000 miles...still has the original brakes!! Only thing replaced outside of regular wear/tear stuff(tires, oil, wipers, bulbs, etc.) is the 12 v battery because i left the interior light on for 3 days while i was out of town.) Very reliable.
hello all, i bought a 2004 in '06 w/ 40k on it. drove it for 100k in about 3.5 years and then sold it to my brother in 2010. he still has it, its got like 170k on it. liked it so much he bought the new bigger one (whatever its called) for his family to replace his clapped dodge mini van. meanwhile, i loved that car and missed it so much i bought a 2005 w/ 117k (us po' folks be buyin our Prii used). i plan to keep this one until it pops, and i'm thinkin i might just pimp it out some. and i want to get another for the wife when her corolla pops.
125000 now. Always changed my own oil Mobil One with Toyota filter every other oil change. Oil changed every 2500-5000 miles. At 115000 miles replaced air-cabin filters, transmission fluid, anti-freeze, front brakes. Water pump recalled and replaced. Drive with snow tires in winter Mich XIce (one set with steel rims) and GY Comfort treads (3sets since new) in summer. Mileage in summer 53-54, winter 46-49. Hit a deer...got lucky and only lost the passenger side mirror! Also own 2007 Highlander Hybrid bought in 2010.
133000. I bought my 2008 Touring Prius in October '11 with 80000 miles. Fuel economy has been 42-45 in the winter and 47-51 the rest of the time.
I went past 160k miles and got the annual inspection done. Front brake pads still have 6mm. The guy couldn't believe it is the original pads.
He said he has seen a lady used up the brakes in 20k miles. He told me I am a good driver. LOL. I explained about the regen braking and took some credit to myself as well.
Hi Everyone! Just bought a 2008 package 3 with 172,400 miles (from a Toyota Dealer). Have only had it for a few days. I live in rural Wyoming and have been averaging 48 to 49 mpg! I love the color!!! It's Silver Pine Mica. Looks brand new!
I totally understand if you don't feel like answering this, or just ignoring it. But I'm curious what you paid for this car?
2009 with 117,000 miles. Purchased Feb 2009. Synthetic oil and fiter changed every 10,000 miles, Tires at 70,000 miles, Cabin Air Filter replaced once and that's it. Fuel economy, upper 40's in cold winter, otherwise low 50's.
I'm really happy with my Prius, a 2008, which I purchased new in November '08 and now has 105,000 miles. I'm on the Mendocino Coast in CA and do a lot of driving on curves and hills. Average 49-53 mpg, although I've gone as high as 57 mpg for a week. Had the HiD light bulbs replaced at 92,000 miles. They cost a fortune; $187 per bulb! Also replaced drive belt. One strut is beginning to leak and it needs a new spiral wire, which allows the buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel to operate defrosters, A/C, and Info on display screen. Inconvenient but not life threatening.
2008 Pkg #2 Purchased new in March 08. I've got 127K on it now. The only thing I've had to replace were the factory speakers ...and the factory tires at 58k I change oil every other time it alerts me (usually 10K intervals). Use Mobil 1 syn since day one..random filters though. Bought a set of brake pads at 100k. Pulled the wheels off and realized that I still had 50% pad left. I average around 57MPG. I used to get a little bit better mileage with the original factory tires, but I think the replacements are a little more quiet. My best tank has been 620 miles. Best MPG for a whole tank was 62mpg. It took me until 100k to realize it's not a tank bladder issue, but a gas gauge issue to realize that I can always drive 10 gallons worth of distance on every tank Been eyeing the Prius v, but just not sure if I want to take the mileage hit....
Just hit 100k. 2008 package 3 (leather, nav, HID). Purchased April of 2008, paid $25, 300. Only "problem" this car has ever had, is the AM radio reception is terrible, seems to cut in and out when going over bumps. Front factory tweeters and the center channel blew a long time ago, but the stereo STILL sounds good. A set of tires @ 37k, still have them on, Bridgestone Potenzas. Change oil every 10-17k always with synthetic, have Blackstone analyses for all of them. Tranny Fluid at 30k, then 70k. Coolant (inverter and ICE) at 77k. Gonna wait until the 5 year mark for the 12V battery. 3 marker/brake lights have blown, (2 rear, 1 front). Brakes seem fine. Lifetime average (hand calculated) 49 mpg. Hands down the smartest vehicle I've ever owned. Gotta figure out how to take the door panel off, drivers side armrest is cracked...maybe I can repair it without replacing. Also gonna get the pvc and plugs done, haven't looked into how hard it is, may just let a shop do it. Love this car, still looks like new, still drives like new save for the LOUD tires (time to replace, but being a cheap a**.)
When you waited to 17k for oil changes...was that basically slow in town (no dust) driving? Does outside temp matter?
