2006, green. New on 2/15/2006 100,000 miles on 5/6/2010 Original everything, wipers, coolant, engine belt, plugs, injectors, whatnot. New tires at 81,000. Oil changes on 5k's, air filters on 20k's. New real tail light bulb about 90k I tracked every gallon of gas going in and averaged 49.8 at the pump. The display trends about 2mpg above that, but I didn't track that. I built a page about it on my site: http://www.daronspicher.com/php/image/display.php?pid=2010050541200 My fuel mileage has been tracked here since day 1: http://www.daronspicher.com/php/prius/priusgasgrid.php Guess I'm headed for a second 100,000 miles unless someone wants to swap me for a F150... anyone??
I have 152,000 on my 2005. I have original brakes and pads and spark plugs. I did change the recommended fluids at 100,000 miles. I have spent only $200.00 in repairs, and that was for a sticky throttle plate. I use synthetic 5W 20 oil , and change the oil every 6,500-7,500 miles.
Those that are familiar with the St. Louis area - turned 100,000K in my 2004 at the intersection of Watson and Fyler today! Just wish I had my damned camera with me!
I have 155,000 on my 2004... Change the oil every 3500-4000 miles... and have gone through two sets of tires... and I recovered the seats once with take-offs from a 05 that I paid 30 bucks for on ebay... The only thing I have an issue with is a slight rattle in the wheel over 80mph... I think its the Rack? Gonna get it inspected... anyways... this Prius is has been AWESOME. No major repairs... nothing... I expect to take it all the way to 300,000....
I have a 2005, bout in March of that year. i have 165K as of this date. i have gone through four sets of tires and about to purchase a new set today. I also need to change my 12v battery since serveral times a week the battery is not up to start the car.
I hit 100K today. Car is running as great as ever and I'm still disappointed any time I fill up and am showing less than 60mpg. I expect to keep the car another 2 years or so (waiting for my Tesla Model S) and have never enjoyed a car so much in my life.
2006 Black....150,000K milers on 15 May...bought in Feb 06...NEVER fly anywhere.....3 sets of tires, 1 12V battery, 1 water pump....change oil (synthetic) every 7,500...Best car I ever owned....no other problems with it at all...
Just hit 100K this morning. 2006 Prius - Keene, NH. The only thing I've done besides routine maintenance is had the headlight aim lowered - and that was under warranty. Cannot sak for a better car - except, prhaps, a 4-door Tesla:rockon:
I am now at just over 100,000 miles. Problems were the MFD and inverter pump failures, covered by the extended warranty. I just completed the major service, doing the basics suggested here at Priuschat. My overall MPG (when I tracked it closely) was 48.5 MPG. I very consistently get greater efficiency on the highway than around my town. I took a picture of the old spark plugs, for all to see. I resized the original photo, but you can get the idea. (I am not a mechanic type person.) I think my MPG has been falling lately, so time will tell if the maintenance will improve this.
Just over 201,000 miles on my 2007 Touring Edition. All I've done is the routine maintenance and replaced the headlights. Brakes, traction battery all original. Needs a Catalytic Converter, but I'm on no hurry on that. Runs like new. Unbe-freakin-lievable
Updated. Was (2/12/08) Now: 2002 - Mileage: 260,000 2005* - Mileage: 92,000 *"the deer fighter" - been hit on the right by a buck, hit/kicked on the left by a doe and took another doe across the hood... 3 seporate events. And the wife is a conservative/careful driver! (seriously)
04 silver, pkg 9, delivered March 04. Almost 107,000 miles, mpg between 40 in the coldest part of winter and 52 in the spring/fall. MFD failed at about 80K miles, goodwill replaced by Toyota. Water pump at 95K. Replaced OEM tires before 30K, been through two sets of Michelin Hydroedges. Since the Hydroedges truly are terrible in snow and ice, I've been using General snows, and this spring replaced them with Continental Procontact with EcoPlus. Hit one raccoon when the car was 5 days old, had to get front grille and bumper cover replaced. Use synthetic oil, do oil changes between 7K and 10K miles. LOVE this car!!
My touch screen works sometime and most of time it doesn't work. How did you fixed your screen problem? Thanks.
113,000 on my 2006, Package 3, Silver. Since I hit 100K, a few minor issues appeared: 1. The hard plastic cover around the driver's side vent (left of the screen) has two cracks. 2. The middle console fabric is coming out on one side. 3. The plastic headlight covers are really yellowed and faded. I used a headlight restore kit, and it seems to have cleared it up, at least temporarily. 4. The steering wheel has gotten pretty worn on the inside posts, because I used to hold my thumbs there (9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position). I stopped holding it that way but it's too late . 5. The rear quarter panels where the bumper wraps around, the plastic is sticking out a little and no longer completely flush with the body. 6. The A/C doesn't feel as fresh or cool as quickly, but I suspect that just means I need to get the A/C serviced. 7. The battery fan is almost always blowing now. 8. A spring has popped out in the back of the driver's seat and torn through the fabric. That's really about it. I've had no major mechanical issues, no accidents, never ran out of gas (although it did spit gas out on my wife! ). Been using Michelin HydroEdge tires since from the beginning. Even the factory battery still seems to be in good condition. MPG average: If I'm in a hurry and driving over 75-80, I get about 43-44 mpg. If I cruise at 72, I get 50 mpg.
Maybe your car would benefit from cleaning the battery fan assembly, which was the subject of a recent post: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...oubleshooting/82092-battery-fan-cleaning.html
I'm going to hit 160,000 next week. Other than outside agents such as deer (2), stones and other drivers, nothing has occured to my 2005 that was not expected. Next week I'm planning to drain / replace both coolant resevoirs change the spark plugs change the serpentine belt change the oil as usual replace the engine air filter rotate tires have the struts checked ( future service ) 12v replaced at 105K inverter coolant drained / replaced at 110K replaced tires at 50K and 110K Original brakes still work fine No HID issues No MFD issues Refused the recent recall and pedal shaving Borrringggggg. TYVM
Clean the HV battery fan ASAP if you want to keep it above 150k miles. It is critical especially in FL summer.
Well I just joined the club. I'm at 100,085 on my 2004. I bought it in November of 2003 as my 2001 that I had just was totaled by a reckless driver (luckily the car was parked so I was ok). Owning my Prii have been the best! By far my favorite car I've ever owned. It's funny to see how many common problems have happened to us. I had to have the MFD replaced as it went bad around 40k. I got it replaced under my platinum warranty (had to pay the deductible). Had the computer re-flashed a few times, also had the CD player replaced. The inverter water pump went bad around 71k (again under the platinum warranty). I replaced the stock tires with some Michelin MXV4 Plus tires and they have been great. I've taken the car on lots of road trips, up mountains, in the snow, in death valley national park (and it was around 118 degrees), so I can say that the car is very versatile and amazing. I'm just about the change the transmission (PSD) fluid, but haven't had to do much else other than the oil and filter changes. I was glad that I bought the extended warranty. I plan to get the Leaf later this year or early 2011. At that point my wife will inherit the Prius. Will report back when I hit 200k. Thanks all for the great info and glad to be a fellow Prius owner. -Peter
just over 100k a few days ago 2007 prius, super white, package 5 most problematic issue were the hid lights, had to change them twice! one rear light bulb, tires at around 55k and replace intake filter with KnN filter other than that, just normal maintenance (need to schedule 100k service) overall, I'm happy with car, although it has become louder than b4 I hope I can get over 300k with this car, my old camry got me 260k before I sold it.
