I guess you have never heard of Venture Capital. Most "high tech" companies get no government money but get VC funding... 8 or 9 out of 10 of them go bust, some struggle along and a few go public or sell to another company.

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Your signal-to-noise ratio exceeds my tolerance. Time to turn up the SQUELCH.

idk about convenience store charging locations being profitable.
charging takes too long for that model.
maybe inconvenience stores would work better.

Bush started it, but Chinese imports killed Solyndra, not the government. Tesla is in the Solyndra building now. Solyndra was making different types of panels. I forgot the details. People buy with their pocketbook, but talk about how terrible made in China is.
Due to the government “wasting money” we have these electronics now. They aren’t a business, and shouldn’t be, imo. Money, what is it, could be a whole topic. I don’t know why but as I get older I care about money less. Some don’t, that’s for certain. They want more till they die.

    My practice is "Ignore User":

Would agree it is not about the money when you have responsibility and manage your money correctly - you can live your life without much thought at all on the subject.

Whole different ballgame when you and all our foreseeable future generations are on the hook for trillions upon trillions of dollars of irresponsible debt- at that point others will begin to tell you how much you will have to think about money not yourself- ie: people who end up in debtors court, bankruptcy fillings, credit disputes and debt collectors all get told what and when to do things.

agreed. my concern is if an emergency occurs, debtor countries historically wind up the poorer

I’m sure you know the tax rates for the upper incomes during Eisenhower and awhile after. These people just went through WW2, and reality of war was fresh. Essentially if someone is more powerful and has better weapons they can plant a flag and say this is our land now, even today with Russia it’s seen. So why did Eisenhower admin want high taxes, like 90%, on the highest incomes?

VC's are already out the door - they're a public company. That's why I didn't mention it - Nice try though..... There's nothing groundbreaking in what they are doing, so onto the next company investment. Probably AI....

Because they (the wealthy) has the most to lose, if our country gets invaded. Invading armies would normally leave citizens alone. They needed farmers and tradesmen to feed, equip, and repair the invading forces troops and equipment. Invading troops will either take a factory for their own purposes or destroy it. Insurance doesn't cover invading armies..

Today's warfare is nothing like that now. Modern warfare seems to be a scorched earth policy.....:(

Haven't you heard - 'resistance is futile'; (Star Trek - Borg quote):p:LOL::notworthy::whistle:: but noted - Use of "smart munitions", explosives, and killer drones makes for lots of collateral damage. It's messy....

The NHTSA crash tested the Volt and then let it sit. They were supposed to drain the coolant out of the battery, like GM told them to do, but didn't. After three weeks, there was a chemical reaction and because the battery was still active, it went up. After that, Volts were programmed to shut the battery down after a crash.

I don’t know, lighting, heating, and cooking are part of living in a house. Given the age of many houses and that residents are responsible for how everything is used, it seems logical there are house fires.
But an ev you park it in the garage and it can burn the house down.

AnEV is sometimes blamed when a poorly wired evse is installed. For that matter there are over 20k Home Fires e/ yr via old fashioned knob & tube wiring that was never upgraded in any way. Irony. ICE fires are so ubiquitous that they don't even make the news. EV's? OMG shouted from the roof!

In the meantime, there are much more stable battery chemistries being installed in newer EVS nowadays. That's going to really make EV haters Nash their teeth. Whatever will they FUD about next.
