update: checked voltages at the Everstart battery in the car. sitting 12.86v. key acc 12.68v. key on not ready 12.44v. The first voltages were low for a new battery but i think that may have been because the battery did not have a good charge cycle on it. tomorrow im going to put the optima back in and see how that compares to the everstart. if its close. im taking the everstart back and hanging onto the optima. heck the optima is only from 2 of 2010. im thinking that it was sitting from the auctions the car through and the used car dealer, that it sat and drained it, maybe it just needed a good charge out of the car. my only thing is that the voltage out at the battery in the trunk read 12.86 but the scangauge showed 12.5v is it really that inaccurate or is there an xgauge command to correct that?

well i took the everstart battery back a couple days ago because my optima sat for 24 hrs and still sat at 12.8 v so I put that back in. Today I decided to check the voltage before work and my optima was at 12.32 without the key on. so I guess its trash. I guess it lost its amp hr capacity. Im going to get a lead acid from the costco I work at. those are reted 600 c amps, 525 cc amps and they carry a 3yr warranty 100 month prorated which is darn good. same size as optima and only costs 69.99. just wish i knew the amp hrs on them
