I don't see why the OP's new EVSE won't work at 240v 60hz in the US. Read the label in the photo... At 240v the EVSE only draws 9.6amps.
If it helps- I didn't run my JuiceBox off a GFCI protected 240v outlet... The JuiceBox already has built-in GFCI so running it off a GFCI...
I fully charged the Volt four times in four days with the JuiceBox before packing it up. I sold it to a fellow with a Volt who is going to use it...
