it turns out that AAP has the same deal every weeek or 2. I didnt get to use it either but my local Autozone matched the price.

I think those prices are crazy high. I got a NEW 2013 Prius 4 with ZERO miles, full warranty, and Toyota Care for $25k in August. I'd go for a 4...
If you are going to keep your car for 50000 or more miles, why would you NOT get a set of snow tires (it will save 50% wear on your all-seasons)....
