Whoa your battery icon looks different from mine. Is yours a 2018? Mine isn’t segmented like yours but continuous.

It sounds like the engine could’ve still been in the warm up cycle.
But if the battery is cold the engine will come on because it can’t accept that much energy back in.
I think that's the way this car's steering is calibrated as mine doesn't either if the wheel is rotated +/- 10º
