My 2010 had cheap tires on it and rode fine till I put 100k Michelin and then was very mushy, especially at high speeds. So I had them replaced...
Yep ridiculous.. Here in Texas people think nothing about long commutes to live in the country

I personally haven't read of issues, they do have less drag than gen2 which helps coasting mpg.
Unfortunately the better tires (100k+) often get worse gas mileage due to higher traction and can feel softer and spongier and need a little more...

I have a second 2006 with over 250k, don't know how much is left because my son drives it, but never brakes on that one either!
Pretty funny, I have 4 hybrids, never done a brake job on any.. Even my 2006 with 216k, the dealer said 60 percent still left in back, 40 in front.

I agree it shouldn't be a rattle trap but reality is you will have an occasional one that may be intermittent. I can almost always find them......
