Have you disconnected the battery to reset everything?
Typical used car stuff, but with a 12 PIP, make the dealer replace the 12V battery and try and get them to extend the warranty on the li-ion one...
Sounds like the past owner may have disconnected the battery very recently.
this is key, once the battery is back up, reconnect to determine if it has a draw on it when just sitting there.
