Softex interior? Is there any visible damage to the seats and door interior panels?
It seems reasonable to suspect there is some foreign material causing a short. I don't mind opening it up to see if I can resolve it.
I would expect those to dim and turn on/off with the rest. Did it just start doing that?
I haven't tried it again. The HUD is a VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) just like the upper instrument cluster. I can put a gel film over it....
