If Screamer doesn't get a pic posted by, say, 4:00PM Pacific Time, I'd say it's open to whomever can get one up the fastest. MB

Also, is this a deviation from the game? I thought we were suppose to post a image from google maps and suppliment it with other photos if needed? Here is the picture of the VLA array
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bestmapman @ Sep 16 2007, 09:15 AM) </div> Yes it is the VLA located near Pie Town, NM. Thought the bases were covered -- didn't see it had been posted before, it is on Google Maps (but the image is marginal so I posted a better one.) First timer, guess I flubbed the rules. Mea culpa.

That looks awfully like the subject of an Ernest K. Gann historical novel, and if that's what it is, outstanding choice! I'll bow out too. (That doesn't give too much away, by the way; Gann was a prolific writer & wrote many novels, some of them historical). MB
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(airportkid @ Sep 16 2007, 05:43 PM) </div> Yes you've got it also. It is a hint, although a broad one. It looks like it must be too nice outside today for anyone to be searching the web. Let's see if anyone else who doesn't already know it can get it.

Searching for mountain top fortress on google brought it up pretty quickly. Not sure I have anything saved, but I have an idea...just a bit. Probably too easy, but it was fresh on my mind.
A litttle bump, no more clues yet as I suspect several of you have actually been here and it'll come to you quickly.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(efusco @ Sep 17 2007, 08:35 PM) </div> Well, it's not Mesa Verde, and I couldn't find those rocks in (admittedly cursory) looks at other Colorado natural parks, so I'm stumped. Is it an historical site (war, archaeology) or a geographic site (nice view)? MB
