Well, this is normal for pirated softwear and cable.... If you keep trying, you MAY be lucky and it will work, eventually.
You have to follow the instructions exactly. No skipped steps. It might be useful to know how far you got before it failed.
I had a nightmare of a time doing a brake bleed with a Mini VCI as the dongle, conked out like that about five times in a row, almost always very late in the process during the repeated zero downs and pump ups at the very end. On my 6th try somehow I got lucky. A later attempt, same laptop, same Techstream installation, but an Openport 2.0 as the dongle, didn't have the problem. I sort of wonder if it could come down to something as simple as a timeout, the dongle driver giving up waiting for a response because the zero downs/pump ups take so long. Maybe no dongle hardware difference is involved at all, just a more generous timeout coded into the Openport driver than the Mini VCI one. Just speculation though; I've never set out to test whether that's what's happening.
Couple weeks again I replaced the Brake booster on my 2011 Prius 3rd gen with 320K miles. After installtion all the lights lid up and message "Check Hydro System.I did perform the old tradition with brake bleeding and it work great. I undstand that I have to use the Techstream and follow the bleeding procedure to get it right. I did purchased a Techstream from ebay and it reads everythings, but when I perform the bleeding procedure, the techstream message pop up.(Air bleeding has Fail). The Techstream did read the code which shows C1210, C1345, U0293 and when I try to clear, the code are still there, So I took it my friend shop and he used his scan tool (Applo D8) and he told me there's a communiction error. I did checked all the fuses. Here's my question: 1. Do the new brake booster needs to do some sort of programing so it can communicate with the ECU? 2. Why the message "Check Hydro system pop up? I had seen in the past but goes away. 3. Why is my Power mode, EV mode, ECO mode are not working ? 4. Can this be an ECU damaged ? if so, do the new used ECU need to be programed ? 5. Are there any replay or fuse for hybrid battery. The battery show good with Dr. Prius apps. Please help. Thank you,
Copied from your other thread:https://priuschat.com/index.php?posts/3493606 Did you connect a charger to the 12v battery?
It is highly recommended to connect a charger to the battery while doing that. The battery alone will get low and the computer will have errors. The charger will keep it where it needs to be.
Having dealer remedy the lights will be the last resort and sure will cost more. I know this car inside out. Just this time I cannot figure out why it not communuicating after replaced the ABS uniPoint.
Quick updates: The cause of no communication was the ABS module is incorrect parts. Yes, same form and fit, but not function. The ECU won't commununictae with the ABS module. There are few type of the parts. EC, XB, etc. Since I can't return the part and here's what done to it. 1. Removed my old ABS ECB (The ABS Large connector) and put on the new ABS module and installed. 2. Bleed the brake using Techstream V18. 3. Most codes cleared. Except C1345 with brakes lights, ABS and Traction are on. Yes, I did perform a Linear Solinoi Calibration, but the code do not go away. I even try the paper clip technic with no luck. Any Question I can try ?
