It reminds me of the Ford Maverick hybrid truck we tried to get a few years back. The wait wasn't quite as bad as the Prius prime but it got to the point where we decided, we're either gonna wait 6-9 months for it or get something else. We got s Subaru forester and are very happy we did. Now I'm waiting for the Prius prime. I traded in my 2022 Prius limited and got top dollar since I was willing to sell it to them before the prime comes in. Fortunately we have a second car. Been waiting 3 weeks and was told it's at the dock and will be another 2-3 weeks. Not confident in their information but apparently their information is about 90 percent accurate. If it's thanksgiving and I haven't gotten it yet, I will get something else.

Hmm very interesting. I wondered if they would try to sell the one that comes in versus the one I put the deposit on.

That's what I'm doing so we'll see. I was told 3-4 weeks and that's what it's been. Asked and was told another 3-4 weeks so have little confidence but I am a patient person.

Looking at the price of the Prime, there's no way I could buy a new one. I don't think I'd buy a used one either. :(

It's not like your current Prime is swimming cargo space.:)
Between the two, the gen4 might come out ahead, but the gen5 effectively has the same space as the hybrid version.

they lowered the hatch floor and made it narrower, especially the opening. that was a death blow for me

That's an issue with the issue with the hybrid. If the Prime was like the previous model, you'd lose several suitcases worth of space on top of that.
