I didn’t vote for him. I haven’t met anybody who admits voting for him. But then, I live in a city overrun with strange people who would never have managed the same feat in a lot of other western cities in the civilised world.

I bet, if those catalytic converter thieves were suddenly violently attacked by an irate and “plainly tiffed” mob (of otherwise mild-mannered chaps) angry at the criminal antics of these freeloading vermin, the local constabulary wouldn’t only turn up in multiple riot vans with truncheons a-swinging and tasers cackling, they’ll be accompanied by at least one police helicopter filming proceedings from the sky, and the angry “mob” (read peeved Prius owner + participating family + friends) will suddenly themselves arraigned before a stony faced magistrate so fast, they’ll be in the clink before sundown!

Otherwise, the thieves seem to have free reign of London and its environs these days.

What about the newer models? Doesn't the latest generation have the cat very close to or even integrated in de exhaust manifold?
That would make it a lot harder to steal or wouldn't it?
Even here in the Netherlands there are more and more reports of stolen cats but Toyota still tells that they haven't heard of widespread cat theft...

I suspect these home grown baboons are in touch with their agents - who pose as clandestine recyclers. There’s legislation and protocols in place banning genuine recyclers from accepting stolen cats.

The issue is not official recycling facilities there are back street garages melting these down. I saw the pics on Facebook someone was advertising cat wanted and with pics how they deal with them. Obviously they were reported.
