I'm a Software Engineer for a military contractor, and in a year I'll be a full time MBA student. Now I just need to decide where to apply.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Canuck @ Jun 14 2006, 03:59 PM) </div> I'm a former US Naval officer. About 25 years ago, we were in a NATO exercise in the North Atlantic, with about 40 ships in a screen formation (for you non-navy types, that's where you divide a large area into sectors and every ship patrols its own sector- but the formation itself is moving on a specified course and speed.) I was officer of the deck on the midnight watch, there was no moonlight whatsoever, and we were in total EMCON (no lights, radar, radio, etc.). Being the cautious type (i.e., not looking for an abrupt end to my career), I got us positioned in the center of our sector and then just stayed at formation course and speed. All of a sudden, there's a bright orange spotlight shining on our decks, and I'm yelling, "hard left rudder", and a Canadian destroyer passed very close down our flanks. Apparently, he was a little overzealous patrolling his sector. I always respected the Canadians for their cojones after that encounter! Anyway folks- if you see Canuck on the road, better give him a wide berth!
