I have had the Rhino Rack on for over 3 months now. When I first installed it with the Manufactures directions I expereinced the same problem...
The clamps have a rubber backing to them, as far as I can tell they have not affected anything on the car. The weather stripping just squishes...
Rhino doesn't sell one, but I am sure you could rig up a Thule, Yakima or Inno wind fairing.
You could clamp skis to this roof rack thing, but only hillbillies that ski in jeans do such things. You would need to purchase a ski rack option...
