What about the Prius V that comes without the covers (and decent alloys)?
I'm new to the Prius and hybrid driving as well (only 320 miles on the ODO), but I have not had any trouble going over 50 mpg regularly.
Bridgstone Ecopia Ep20, all under-inflated at 30 psi on delivery - quickly rectified when I got it home.
