When I upgraded the unit in my 2010 Mazda3 I had to buy a separate device (iDatalink I think it was) and cables to get the steering wheel controls...
Costco is a top tier gas (added detergents). I'm just wondering if the quality of gas is why some EGRs clog and others don't.
What tier gas have you used in the car? Cheapest you can buy or Tier 1?
When they replace the engine make sure they replace or completely clean the EGR or you will be right back with another blown head gasket.

So are they completely replacing your inverter? I Was thinking more of it being the bad 12v battery, a bad battery can cause all sorts of issues...
With that many miles and not having been done I'd either get the EGR serviced (if you can find a place that will clean it) or replaced. Not worth...
