One month in on the Escape. Getting 47+mpg in town. 42+mpg hwy on half bald tires. New Michelin tires today. I guess we will see.

That’s the route I took. Cams and valves (some of mine were bent) from the G4 head in to the G3 casting.
No tuning required. They are blowing smoke. The Gen 4 engine acts and responds to the Gen 3 ECU commands as if it was installed there by Toyota.
Engine out the top by itself is also very possible when the car is on jack stands. Just do yourself a favor and make sure they didn’t come from...
