Unimogs, the only vehicle I've ever seen climb a vertical wall:

Or a smart car, but only if it was diesel and got more than 38mpg:

And my TDI, when I'm flying past folks on the highway thinking, "I'm STILL getting way better mileage than you"

    amm0bob,

Thanks for all your input. I've enjoyed them all.

These comments refer to post #161.

I don't really get why this idea has any on-going "traction."

Still it has me smiling, if for nothing else than for its persistence
despite it's everyday, real world impracticality.

Let's see now... Your every day driver making a cross-wind final
approach while using a cell phone, munching on a breakfast burrito,
and shaving/putting on make-up. Yikes!

My skepticism aside, here's a piece on the long history of this idea:

    The Roadable Times

    And here's a contemporary European auto-gyro concept:

    Pal-V

The Aero Car lives on... at least as vaporware.

And I am going to get me an ultralight gyrocopter after things settle down around me a bit... been up in a Benson a few years back... it was a blast.

In Sacramento, and in Hampton, I remember them being in a DIVCO...

My Dad was a military man... so we relocated often in my childhood... the Milkman trucks didn't change much as I remember...

    They looked like this...

Here's a little site about DIVCO...

    TJandGENESIS, amm0bob,

The DIVCO milk trucks were also posted in posts #42 and 45. :)

This is meant to be a fun thread so there is no problem with duplicate
posts, especially if they have relevant personal comments. :cheer2:

    Enjoy!
