Maybe by chance you have photos of your US mirror (preferably disassembled) + turn signal and cover No3, to see how different they are?
I trust you that if it was doable, you wouldn't order new parts though :)
But locally, our workshop guys are very creative to fix unfixable parts :)
I'm still thinking cutting/glueing might work? I understand these parts would become a single piece and I would lose option to change parts, but I don't really care much.

Hi! Any update on a video or some pics to perform this mod? :)
It's a shame the US version is so "gimped" VS the rest of the world ... I have been eagerly following this thread to get a better idea of what would be involved in this mod if I purchased the US version and alas it seems like quite a bit... o_O

Because of that I am debating potentially just buying the South Korean version of the Prius Prime PHEV (I'm not an owner yet but have been considering one for a while) and importing that into the US for this + many other reasons (ie: South Korea is LHD + it seems to already has TPMSS + the FMVSS plate attached + more color options, etc.). The only thing I'm not sure about is the EPA regulatory requirement and labels. Those AFAICT are different / missing from the South Korean version. Since these are all manufactured and exported from Japan (and this is a hyper-efficient Prius we're talking about ;)) surely it would not be an issue?? Does anyone know if one could just use the existing EPA certificate & buy the appropriate US labeling?

    Thanks!

I took a risk and ordered turn lights, so yesterday I finally fitted them. :)
Had to cut one plastic clip and it fitted perfectly. Did not need any screws or glueing inside it sits firmly.
I believe it's possible to do this even without removing mirror, but it's cold outside, 0C (~30F), so I took it home.

    Here is video: https://youtube.com/shorts/Gn1QhEP7CPA?feature=share

    Notes:
    1. Start by removing mirror top cover.
    2. I took out mirror glass, it kind of helped releasing bottom cover clips from inside, but probably it's not needed, and you risk ungluing blind spot LED from mirror... Not a big problem, it was attached by double tape. If you decide to remove it, be careful, after it detaches, keep it close to mirror body. Then gently rotate a bit to reach and push bottom cover clips at the sides of mirror. It will pop out easily once those two clips are released.
    3. Cut 1 plastic clip at the side and 1 plastic bar on mirror side.
    4. Connect wires to turn signal LED, I did not have connector, but I used common jump wires which are used for DIY projects, Arduino, Raspberry, etc. They attached firmly to pins. Fixed with hot glue.
    5. Remove mirror arm cover and run wire through it.
    6. Attach bottom cover together with turn signal. Look at cover pins direction, you will see how to attach it.
    7. Attach top cover.
    Parts:

Ordered parts from Impex Japan, it was bit cheaper than Amayama, but took very long, 5-6 weeks.
Previously I ordered parts from Amayama, got them in one week...

I used same parts from OP (without PWM as my car does not have Panoramic view):

    Code:
$19 81730-47030 Lamp Assy, Side Turn Signal, RH
$19 81740-47020 Lamp Assy, Side Turn Signal, LH
    $11 8791B-47760 Cover, Outer Mirror, RH No.3
    $11 8794B-47740 Cover, Outer Mirror, RH No.3

Hey there, how did you wire it up? Where can I wire it up? Thank you!

This part is not done yet. I'll try to wire during weekend.

Hammersmith posted hints how to wire it and some wiring diagrams in this thread.

I checked connector O9 inside drivers door (one where mirror harness connects to). It actually has wires in pins 5 (black, turn signal) and 9 (ground). But as Hammersmith told they are connected in harness which leads to K25 :(. Tried pin 5 with multimeter while turn signal on.
    upload_2024-11-27_10-4-56.png upload_2024-11-27_10-5-26.png upload_2024-11-27_10-10-51.png upload_2024-11-27_10-12-7.png upload_2024-11-27_10-14-13.png
    upload_2024-11-27_10-15-12.png

So, my plan is to tap into wires going to rear turn lights under driver footwell.
According to diagram they should be Yellow (LH) and light blue (RH):
    upload_2024-11-27_10-16-47.png
I pulled out car sill and cables are right bellow it. Bunch of them, have to find right ones:
It looks like there is only one Yellow, but there is more than one light blue. So, I guess I will have to try one by one using needle. If you have better idea how to check cables, please let me know.

    upload_2024-11-27_10-35-41.png upload_2024-11-27_10-21-20.png upload_2024-11-27_10-21-43.png upload_2024-11-27_10-21-55.png

I will start with yellow cable, which is LH, for passenger side.
To not run additional cable through door harness, I think I will reuse black cable which leads to O9 pin 5 (it originally is meant for turn signal, I will only tap it to yellow rear turn signal cable).

    Any suggestions are welcome.

My final mod has begun. My mirrors have been finished for months and are working perfectly. So are almost all the other mods I've installed. The only failure was the reverse-linked mirror function. It was meant for a right-hand drive car, and I just can't get it to work in a left-hand drive.

I had pretty much given up on ever having this final mod, but a wrecked Prius Prime XSE finally hit a salvage yard earlier this month. I bought the steering wheel and seats so I can swap the seat covers with mine. When finished, I'll have completed the conversion to the black/red interior of a Prime(I've already switched the red LED strips and trims on the dash as well as the shift knob). I just think a red car needs the red-trimmed interior. lol

I had to order the rear seat bottom from Japan(they're not compatible between the HEV and PHEV), so I also ordered a pair of the low-profile rear headrests that the rest of the world gets. They're technically not US legal, but it's extremely rare I have people in the backseat anyway. And I'm keeping the full-size headrests from the donor Prime, so I can always switch back in a few seconds. That stuff probably won't arrive until late April or May, but then I think I'll be completely done.

I briefly considered doing a full rear seat conversion to the Japan-spec, but it would be way too expensive when the only benefit is just replacing the ugly built-in center headrest with a movable one. I'd need to order and ship pretty much the complete 60% rear seat back, plus buy replacement heating panels(they're not reusable since they're glued to the foam cushions). Even I have limits. lol

Congratulations for the goals You have achieved! I would like to change the shift knob, too, but with a good sample from maybe a Crown or some other Toyota model. In Europe there is only the Phev model with blue dash light, btw. Do you have some hints and/or sources to provide? Thanks a lot
    Regards

Sorry, I'm staying 100% stock Prius on this, so the only difference in the shift knobs is a tiny bit of trim at the base of the knob. It's a smoky chrome on the original and a copper-tint red on the new one meant for a USA Prime. If you're looking for something that looks and/or feels noticeably different than the original knob, this isn't it. And, since I've always intended to stay stock, I've never looked for other sources.

I suspect the knob threads are standardized across most of the Toyota line, so I bet most any Toyota knob will work. Just search google images for the interiors of other models to find a knob that you like and think would fit the overall look of the Prius interior. Then go to a Toyota parts website, select the car model you liked most, and search for 33504(current Toyota category code for the shift knob). That will get you the full part number for that specific knob. From there, search for that part number in whatever part vendors are convenient to you in Italy. That's the best suggestion I've got. Sorry.

The three stock Prius knobs are:
33504-47160 - black base - lowest trim(LE, SE in US)
    33504-47190-C0 - red base - black/red "sporty" interior(XSE, XSE+ in US)
33504-47190-C1 - chrome base - gradient black and light gray interior(XLE, LTD in US)

I can't imagine anyone else will do this, but a general FYI:

You can add steering wheel capacitive touch for Adaptive Cruise/Land Tracing Assist to your Prius HEV(US) by swapping in the steering wheel from a Prime. Completely plug and play.

I wish there was easy way to do reverse linked folded mirror. I really really need that feature. Because I use it every time I park.

Small flex: I'm currently sitting at the Toyota Mecca. I spent part of the morning self-detailing my car at The Bays at Car Supplies Warehouse(owned by Jason, the guy who did the detailing of TheCarCarNut's 600k mile Lexus). Now I'm at TCCN Automotive having them do a routine inspection and oil change on my baby. Just had a short conversation with the man himself. lol

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am preparing to do the OEM puddle light install myself. I have the official manual on hand from Japan, but curious what your experience was regarding the wiring. Should I treat the illustration like it's inverted since it's for an RHD model or is the electrical wiring largely left in its original layout?

It's the same. You're going to tap into the map light feed on the drivers side, just like the instructions say.

I went a little overboard since I already had the dash out and ran the left to right wires inside the dash along the main dash harness instead of under it, but I can't recommend pulling the dash just for puddle lights.

I think I also repinned the wires into unused spots on the main door/body connectors instead of using the connectors(P16-3/P21/24) in the kit, but again that's a little much if all you're doing is adding the puddle lights.

Thanks! It is a lot of wiring for just 2 lights. Thankfully there are cutouts to perfectly cut the holes for the lights. Hopefully I can do it in a couple hours this weekend.

I assume you also got the ones that show the Prius logo on the ground? I don't know how I feel about no longer owning the only North American Prius with the puddle lights. Lol
    ( I assume you're NA. I'm on phone so I can't see your location.)

I'm sort of tempted to buy a second set and try to install them in the rear doors, but I'm worried the attempt could go very, very wrong. Not the wiring(that would be easy enough), but figuring out exactly where to physically mount the lights in the rear doors.

The horizontal segment of the rear door card is so short compared to the front door card. I think the only place it could be mounted would be so far forward it would look weird.

If it helps the only OEM parts I'm putting are the GR window visors and the puddle lights. Haha. I did the Sequoia horns upgrade but that's not Prius OEM.

Everything else are some neat aftermarket things I found perusing Rakuten.

That's actually in the official Prius Accessory Catalog, so I'd still count it as OEM. ;)

Honest question: Why do you like it? I can't see the purpose of it, but I think that's because I'm missing something and not because the product is bad.

Functionally for me, my phone is always plugged in and I don't like the cable in the way is I leave it in the phone pocket. I also don't like my phone in the cup holder and the tray behind the cup holders is annoying to fetch things out of for me.
Admittedly unless both lids are closed it isn't great for your phone but I like the option to put stuff there as well.
I'm amazed nobody has a generic knockoff of it anywhere so I had to get it from Japan.

Fair enough. I also have my phone plugged in all the time(more reliable video streaming using Android Auto), but I tend to sit it in a cup holder, upright in the charging slot, or laying on top of the slot(my phone case is textured enough to keep it on the piano black trim unless I'm taking a turn - then it goes flying lol). I have a feeling the cover would be more annoying than helpful with the way I use my car, but I'm glad it works for you.
