Just my opinion, but most guys like this...? No. Some guys... yes. Men who value another person's feelings and wants and needs are out there. I found one... or actually he found me. I think it's very healthy for octavia to want a partner who contributes to a relationship. No one ever wants to feel like they are the only one putting effort into making things happen. If that's the way it is, you can start to feel like your relationship really doesn't matter to the other person and you end up feeling taken for granted. We all want to feel special and appreciated!
Ideally, in what way should a guy contribute to a relationship? List some specifics, because we guys are stupid like that. Then write that into a book, "What women really want but won't tell you in anything but the most general obfuscated terms", and you have a New York Times best seller.
There is such a book. I have (actually, used to have) a copy. It was given to me by my last GF ! (but I can't remember the name or author) I would pull it out whenever we had a disagreement ..... which always broke the tension ..... :tongue1: "... or actually he found me." So, E-moi, maybe guys might actually get lucky in a bar ? ...
It's the little things that show that another person's feelings and needs matter just as much as yours do. Isn't is nice when you know that someone is thinking of you? Or remembers what type of beer you like and brings you some back from the store, even though you didn't ask for it? Or perhaps pays attention when you mention a certain book, movie or (fill in the blank) and tries to make it happen for you? Really, it's just treating someone as you would like to be treated. I am this way with everyone in my life and not just my boyfriend. I really try not to take ANYONE in my life for granted. And may I add that I am blessed with some incredible people in my life. I experience first hand that you get out of relationships, what you put into them. I never in a million years would have thought that would happen, but it did. Though... I always tell my honey that I'm the lucky one!
I have found the "Mars/Venus" books very, very helpful. Not only in relating to the opposite sex, but also in talking to other women! It's good to be reminded of the automatic filters that most people generally have.
If it's not a relationship of equals, with both giving significant contributions, I'm not interested.
.... and I'd so fall for you.... Except, I've hiked with you, and I can't keep up. It just wouldn't work out in the long run... sorry, Hyo. But know that I'll always hold you dear in my heart.
Awww, that's very sweet of you Rae. And sorry, Dave, short jogs just don't do it for me. Built for speed and endurance is more my style.

I was forced to learn multi-tasking, especially with all 3 at once. I may have to get a Stunt Double though. Not as young as I used to be
