Hi Bob, Hope yours are Happy Holidays! Remember your note:Unable to get your Gen2 into Neutral to get on a tow truck? I'm in a worse position: Key won't start car and its parked nose-in on a gravel driveway with no front or side access for a tow truck. I'm hoping you found a way to get your gen 2 on a truck ? PS For my "wont start" request - try a search for "2006 sks not starting"
Thank YOU for comments ! The whoop-whistle was caused by air in the high pressure line. It's GONE, but I am still not happy with my brakes. The fluid level rises 1/2 inch over night and the brake pedal seems soft. I can press it all the way down to where it "hits metal". Car drives fine and Toyota dealer says it is OK. Have U heard all this before [and solved it?]?
"The fluid level rises 1/2 inch over night" ^ That's normal. If you open the front passenger door, reach across and pop the hood, and then go around to driver's side and open that door, the brake pump will (typically) activate, and if you're quick you can see the level dropping down. About 1/2". The spongy brake could be due to air in the system. That said, the gen 3 brakes booster is failure prone.
Thanks for your comment, Mendel! I figured that out myself during the night as often happens. I'll test drive another Toyota asap and compare the brake pedal stiffness with mine.
What I mean is every time I barely touched the brake pedal it let out this loud whoop-whistle ! Dealer said he had never heard that noise before !
Replaced '13 Prius master cyl. & pump. Had Dealer bleed system but it whoop-whistled when braking. Replacement pump failed so put good old pump back in. As I loosed high press. line, foam & air came out. Whoop-whistle GONE. Was it bled properly? 1: soft pedal can press all the way down when pushed hard, but brakes work fine. 2: fluid level raises 1/2 inch over night. Dealer says ALL is OK. Is he right or will I die?
Come check out my music page on Mixcloud and type on search victors05yzfr1 I have 80s and 90s music mixes.
Hey, i hope you are doing well. That red Prius C in your profile picture is yours? if it is, are the fog lights OEM LED? of aftermarket incandescent bulbs?
I have the same problem with my climate control. Fan speed is limited to 2 bars no matter what I set the temperature at. This just started happening and I discovered that if I change the air flow to upper body the fan works properly. Did you get yours fixed and if so what was wrong? Sam
Hi. Any chance you have that extra brake actuator from eBay and want someone to take it off your hands? :) If the first one you installed hasn’t failed and you had good reason to trust the eBay seller, I may be interested. V-Twin. We here in the USA are in need of a 2004-2009 Prius CNG conversion kit and can't find any info on one. Do you still have the kit installed, removed... We will surely pay well for it or for information so that we can duplicate one. We have a show car with a Prius 2008 drive system and want it to run on CNG or as dual fuel... Any information would be valuable to us. Thanks, Carl [email protected]
Dear V-Twin in Italy. Who sold the Prius CNG conversion system, was there a special controller or manual switch to swap... We want to convert a customized 2006 or 2008 Prius drive system. Thanks much [email protected]
