I just wanted to ask this question (For Some Reas0n) what was your car before your prime.

    Was it efficient
    Make/Model/Year
Why you bought it at the time.
    Did you trade it in
Were you considering the new year of the same model

Was it efficient, While at the time of purchase it was, we owned a Toyota Corolla 2008 and it got 38MPG on the highway? These past few years its been getting 20ish AT MOST MPG!

    Toyota Corolla 2008

We got it because of its fuel efficiency and the $1,000 rebate that Toyota or feds offered us...

yes we traded it in for our Prime

We did not consider the same model but new year model because(I'm sorry) BUT IT SUCKED! The ride was harsher than our old Corolla. Tech was lacklustre compared to the Subaru Impreza we were looking at.

The 2014 BMW i3-REx came with Mobileye, optically based, dynamic cruise control and collision avoidance braking. These are mandatory requirements for any future cars like our Prius Prime.

Why you bought it at the time.
Wanted to try a BEV, or PHEV. Had planned on buying a Chevy Volt, but Fiat offered a great lease.

    Did you trade it in
The Fiat 500e was a lease. Turned it in.

Were you considering the new year of the same model
Not really. Although it was a great car, with zero problems, we wanted something with more (total) range. Again, planned on getting a Volt, but my wife fell in love with the Prime.

Why you bought it at the time. Wife needed a car.
Did you trade it in. No, she wrapped it around an oak tree with me in it.
Were you considering the new year of the same model. For the amount of driving she drives didn't need anything that big. Tax day makes one year but the odometer hasn't hit 5000 miles yet.

    Yes. 44-48MPG
    2010 Prius 5.
MPG, and I could afford more goodies like DRCC.
    Yes -- for my Prime.
Not at all, I even bought in in September of 2010. I had a Ford Taurus before that and it was falling apart and needed a car *now*...

Got 48-50 mpg even with 258,000 miles on it.

But the body was falling apart; we had pieces attached with duct tape and baling wire. We donated it to our local NPR last November.

28-30 mpg but only drove it 3-4 thousand miles a year so that was not an issue
After two times in 2-hour stop and go Seattle traffic I realized I needed an automatic transmission
Traded it in on the Prime and received $12.5K

    Was it efficient. Yes
    Make/Model/Year. Prius v. 2012
Why you bought it at the time. Dump my gasser Durango
Did you trade it in. No, gave it to my wife
Were you considering the new year of the same model. No. Wanted the Prime after reading all the positive post on Priuschat and also getting into my first plug-in hybrid. Love my Prime by the way.

Make/Model/Year. 2013 BMW 335is 6spd. Amazing car, however my commute and job territory changed
Why you bought it at the time. So much fun
Did you trade it in. No, I sold it privately

I never thought I would have purchased a Prius, until a coworker convinced me. My colleague went from a F150 to a 2010 Prius, and never looked back. Overall, I must admit I am enjoying this car way more in such a different way than I ever anticipated.

    2017 Mazda CX-3 Touring AWD

For an AWD it did pretty well at 32-36 MPG

Wife thought I needed AWD but the winters here just aren't bad enough to warrant it anymore.

Traded it in only because the offer was too good not too.

Nope. The CX-3 is great crossover but I wanted to get back into a Prius and play the gas game again. ;)

Side note I would have absolutely bought the Toyota CH-R had Toyota offered the hybrid version here in the US. Sadly they left us out of that loop for now...but I would expect it down the line perhaps as a Prius C replacement.

  14. Prius c 2013
Traded in with around 52-53 mpg on the lifetime trip display
I was so detached from the 17 mpg code-throwing P.O.S. Jeep that I had and the loan was paid off

And then I traded that in to get this.

Was it efficient Yes, about 50 mpg overall. Not as good as Prime
    Make/Model/Year Prius Two 2015
Why you bought it at the time. Plug-in was next on my ladder of fuel efficiency and with incentive, it was cheaper than my previous car.
Did you trade it in Yes, but in retrospect I should have kept it for our second car.
Were you considering the new year of the same model No. I wanted plug-in capability.

    Was it efficient - Hardly
    Make/Model/Year - Cadillac STS 2006
Why you bought it at the time.- I had several Cadillacs before, and wanted to get what I thought was the best American car. That was a mistake on several levels.
Did you trade it in - No, it was totaled in an accident.
Were you considering the new year of the same model - No way in hell. I had decided that the next car I got would be the Prime. We love the 2006 Prius which is our second car.
