You know you've decided to buy a new prius when....

1. ...when you want to see how it drives on the freeway, but you decide you MUST have this car before you even get off of the access road leading TO the freeway!

2. ...your wife calls it a "George Jetson" car....and you don't care.

3. ....you are seriously thinking of buying one in California and driving it home because the dealers in Texas don't have the car you want.

 

4. You dreamt of the car and wake up with it in your driveway.

5. You are already thinking of some snazzy comebacks to potential comments made by your knuckle dragging friends.

6. You start thinking of all the things you can buy with the money you'll save in gas during the first year alone.

 

7. You dreamt of doing the wild thing with Dianne Whitmire and wake up all sweaty....uh oh, better get that V with no AT or III with SR sooner rather than later

 

7.) But instead of saving that money, you keep buying new accessories for your new Prius.

 

Your wife won't let you touch hers !

 

1. You investigate moving the shifter on your '06 to the console.

2. You start going through the wiring of your aftermarket amp and sub to see how hard it is to remove and reinstall.

3. You keep reaching for the height adjustment on the seat in your '06.

 

...you stop caring how many times your friends use the word "smug" or bring up that South Park episode.

 

Actaully, I call mine "Hal." ...as in "Open the pod bay doors, Hal."

 

You spend day after day reading threads on this forum......

You check the inventory daily on every Toyota dealer's website within 100 miles of your house.....

You notice every Prius you spot on the roadway and try and figure out what Generation it is as fast as you can...

You know that P&G is not just a cosumer products company....

You know what "hypermiling" is.....

 

You find yourself chating with Prius members more than your spouse!

you want an all-around basic package that gets you to and from work.

you eventually know you will laugh your nice person off when the price of gas goes back up to $4.00 /gal.

 

You make your screen saver a photo of a Prius and begin to dream of misty gray interiors!

you got a 2 year lease on a Subaru that just happens to end with the release of the gen III model.

you started "lurking", on and off, at priuschat 2 years ago.

you began "lurking" again intensely, for more info, for the past 6 months at....priuschat.

you finally got off your nice person and walked into a showroom.

 

You spend hours brainstorming a way to justify the purchase of illuminated door sills.

You have memorized exactly what package combinations and prices it would take to get whatever Prius you want to purchase.

You find yourself parking your current automobile and going into the fast food joint instead of using the drive through because it suddenly seems uncouth to have your engine running while your waiting for your biggie fries.

When you have a discussion with your mechanic about "Gas Bladder Issues" instead of your Doctor.

 

You keep making drive-by's at the local dealer to see if the next gen is available for testdrives.

LOL. I misspelled restdrives instead of testdrives. Coincidence? I don't believe in them.
