When you approach the vehicle, do all doors automatically open or just the driver's door?

    thanks

The answer is yes. You can program the car, using the fob buttons, for three different modes. one opens all the doors, another opens only the door you are near, the third opens all the doors if you walk up to the pasengers side and only the drivers door if you walk up to that side. The instructions are in the owners manual.

Edit: actually they don't unlock when you approach, you need to touch the back of the door handle or the hatch opener

For the 2006 Prius, its your choice. See page 32 in the owners manual for how to make your key open just the drivers door, all doors, or the door you are in front of. The default from the dealer is drivers side door only.

Specifically, as you approach the vehicle the car will go into a pre-unlock mode, acknowledging that it sees you by turning on the cabin lights. If you do not touch either of the front door handles or the back hatch handle, the vehicle will not unlock. The vehicle also knows which side of the vehicle your key is on and will only unlock the door that the key is closest to. You can approach the car on the drivers side and if a passenger is at the other side of the car, they can yank on the handle and it will not unlock. You touch your handle and it will unlock.

Prii from 04- forward use the same logic and control system for determining door unlock preference. At delievery you can have the dealer program the system to any of the three modes that are in the system.
    1. (default mode from factory) Drivers door unlock: only unlocks drivers door and other doors remain locked. Passenger door and back hatch unlock will unlock all doors.
    2. All doors mode: Driver's, passenger's or back hatch handles will unlock entire vehicle
    3. Door only mode: System will unlock the door you chose and only that door. Other doors remain locked.
Instructions for changing the mode are in the manual, however it is easier to have the dealer do it with the THHT.
