2015 Prius V with 45,00 miles- Wrench light appears on dashboard - Manual says Hybrid battery cooling system needs service. Is this normal at 45,000 miles, how much should this cost or is it covered by my 100,00 mile certified used car warranty?

I know this is an old post, but did you ever get your issue resolved? If so, how?

    Original Poster never came back.

I would start by cleaning the hybrid battery fan, it's the most likely cause.

How many miles on it, and do have shedding pets in the car?

I'd like to try to clean my battery fan and filter. I'll have to start by cleaning off my back seat. What is the name of the tool used in the video to remove the clips? Where can I get one? I've been getting errors about the battery cooling system on long trips during the last month but the message goes away the next day after the car cools down.

You have a Prius v? If it’s similar to 3rd Gen hatchback Prius, it’s not necessary to remove the rear seat cushion:

also see video #21 here, the @NutzAboutBolts video. They remove the seat cushion, but again, not necessary:

One of the many reasons a v is better than a hatchback is it only takes one easy 10mm screw to access the hv battery fan. Mostly due to the sliding and reclining rear seats.

Thank you. I was never able to get the front cover off the battery. The 10mm socket bolt on the passenger side came off easily and I was able to loosen the cover on that side. I couldn't get it off the other side and didn't want to pull too hard for fear of snapping things. However I vaccuumed the car throughly paying special attention to the intake grill for the battery fan. I've gone on a long trip in hot weather reaching 88 degrees in the afternoon. The battery cooling system message did not come on so this probably fixed my problem. I'll try again to open up my car and actually look at the battery fan and its intake pipe.
