Hello, I was in a wreck about three weeks ago now. I was hit by a lady that lost control and hit me on the passenger side and I flipped 2x and landed on the roof at 55mph on the hwy. I got out with my life the car did a great job all glass behind driver was undamaged that includes the lift. I have included photos:rockon:
Wow! How are you doing? You must have been quite shaken up by that hit. I am very glad your Prius gave its life for yours. As difficult as they may be to find, they are replaceable! Looking at the pics, I can hardly believe you lost all of that glass, the side view mirrors and blew the tires, yet the antenna is still in place after a roll-over!
The car did its job by sacrificing itself to protect you. Let's hear it for high strength alloys, good engineering, and seatbelts/airbags
Just a few bumps and no other problems it was hard sitting by my black perl looking at her upside down while the pera-meds looked me over.
It appears that the drivers door opening held its shape - they did not have to pry or cut you out of the car. Glad you made it ok. You can always get another car.
The side air bags on both sides deployed as this was a side on side flip. Thoes air bags did a great job for me.
A little buffing compound and some elbow grease will take that right out. Very happy to hear you are safe and sound. I have seen quite a few pics of Prii that have been in severe accidents now. But that one is among the worst. Incidentally, most everyone walks away from the accidents with only very minor injuries. I really am glad you are adding to that total..
To quote W.C. Fields.... "The resale value of this car is going to be nil!" Glad your OK, might want to talk to an Attorney. Hope the insurance company is prompt, efficient, and courteous. Oh wait, that's right we are talking Insurance company's, Thats what the lawyer is for!!!
Gnarly! Looks like the frame is still good. I say pump up the tires and let's go after that bi0tch!! Back from d'grave!!
Looks like you took the rings off the wheels. I really like that look. Ok, seriously. I'm glad you are fine. If you flipped a couple times and ended up on the roof, all I can say is "thank you A-bars." Oh sure they're a little thick and cause a bit of a blind spot from time to time but the roof stayed above your head instead of on it. One thing you might have learned, when hanging upside down in a car, make sure you are braced before you unbuckle the seat belt. (some day I'll explain how I know that)
