I have a Gen II 2008 Prius. It has 145k and I've been noticing it sounds like it's working too hard. Almost a whining noise. I just discovered that the noise stops when I turn the wheel to the right, but not the left. Not sure if that helps, or makes this more confusing.

Does anyone have suggestions, or advice on what type of mechanic I can take this Prius to so they can diagnose?

    Thank you!

That's your final drive line anybody that works on front wheel drive cars Corollas Ford Tauruses Ford focuses Chevy sonics any of that stuff will be able to work on your front It sounds like you're out of bad wheel bearing possibly or a CV joint Don't replace joints try to buy whole axles look on eBay or Amazon they're not mission critical there's nothing to making these don't buy the cheapest but certainly don't buy the most expensive right there in the middle Good luck
