I see we've crept up to over 20K members. Is that ACTIVE members or all people who registered since the start (including trolls, flamers, and banned)?

The new on-line high count was in Feb 07 when 4.25% of the 20K members were on at the same time. Not exactly MySpace, but that's a good thing.

I'm afraid that includes all trolls, spammers, etc. It would be nice to know how many members check in on a regular basis (once a week or more).

    Should we do a poll?

I'd agree - the active member count is a better barometer of forum activity.

In any given forum, 10% or less of the members will be active.

Any way to remove those so they don't clog up the system?

There is a way to delete the usernames and all their posts. Of course, that takes effort on the part of, well, me. It's just easier to ban them for life.

Also, due to the database structure of Priuschat, once the member number is taken, it will not be reclaimed. So the memberhip numbers would continue to grow even if we delete the undesireables.

Is there any way to count the number of PriusChatters that log in over a given period of time, say the last six months? Not the number of times, just the number of members. For example, I log in frequently, but I'd still count as 1. A new member who signs up and logs in once again, then forgets and doesn't log in again, would count as 1 (within the reference time frame). And Guests almost always outnumber Members, so it's a little hard to know the real traffic. Maybe Google Ads tracks it?
