With a Non JBL and non nav radio does the steering wheel radio controls use resistance

    So many stereos for cars use resistance to indicate what steering wheel button is selected. For years they require an add on device because Fords used a different resistance chart for each than Toyota, etc and the "adapters made for then were either 'smart" enough to figure it out and convert it or were pre 'programmed" for your car. There were two used by most after market manufacturers.

    Anyway newer units often have an "adapter" built in letting you program the radio to respond to your steering wheel. So does the 2012 (3 rd gen) Prius supplied with a non JBl radio and a non navigation, no rear view camera use resistance to indicate the button pressed on the steering wheel?

    I believe so. It's how the 2010 wiring diagram shows it.
