    Greetings gang.........
I'm one of many who are investigating Winter tires, and I want to buy dedicated 'Winter' wheels for my V............
    I think the OE wheels are 17" x 7" w/ 50mm offset, correct???

I want to go w/ a slightly narrower & taller 205/50 winter tire vs the OE 215/45, and am having a devil of time trying to find any selection of 7" wide 17' wheels.
7.5" wheel width seems to be the order of the day, at least on the many I looked at @ tirerack.com.
Before I waste any more time, I was wondering if
Wider wheel + narrower tire = or something like that....

    Comment & suggestions always appreciated................

For fear of encouraging yet another thread on this subject, I ask why not go with 15" wheels along as you are buying winter wheels anyway? The OE 15" Prius wheels can be bought on e-bay for reasonable money, and they will be a perfect fit.

I just mounted Michelin snow tires on steel 2005 corolla rims and they work fine. Tire shop threw in conical lugs for free, and I bought some Corolla wheel cover take offs for $25. Michelin has a $70 rebate at Discount Tire right now.

I think this is the 22nd new thread about winter tires this week. Why do people keep starting new threads?

It is much like a new edition of a text book. Change a couple of words around and it's time for a new thread despite 99% of the content being the same. :D
