OP, whey buy into a Heavy OE 17x7 wheel when you can buy many many different aftermarket 17x7 wheels that cost less & weigh less ??

Hi Rob 43. I’ve always preferred the look of stock wheels on the stock car. But I actually prefer stock wheels that are machine silver/black, like I posted.

I don’t mind losing a few mpg if the car looks great.

If anyone sells aftermarket wheels that look like this that will fit the prime I’d like to know about it.

Buddy, take the dumb plastic wheel covers off, and get the hub plugs; the factory alloys underneath look fine! Who cares about the 1 MPG loss!

I'd ask you to reconsider the "stock" 17x7 wheel option for several reasons & find something you like in an aftermarket 17x7 wheel.

Even if the Toyota 75183 wheel in post 1 had the correct 5x100 bolt pattern (which it doesn't) it would still be a poor choice for these reasons:

    1) It's Very Heavy at ~25lbs
    2) It has an et50 offset which pushes the wheel & tire much closer to the strut, roughly ~20mm closer.
    3) Overall wheel & tire weight will be about ~45lbs, this is roughly a 33% increase in unsprung weight. (Not Really Acceptable)
    4) Negative scrub radius.

Search for an aftermarket 5x100 / 17x7 wheel of your choosing with about an et40 offset and a weight not exceeding 18lbs....

Maybe I just should get some better looking 15 inch wheel covers like on my old Prius C...

Didn't you want 5x100? It says 5x100 in the post at the top.

It was the offset I was concerned about the stock corolla the ET 50 versus the ET 40 for the Prius.

    Ok I'm confused.

You asked about the bolt pattern. And I thought I got it figured out when you posted in the Prime forum even though you have a Prius c asking for rims (so I assume you have a Prime that you want to grab new shoes for) but now you're asking for a Corolla? o_O

    :(

My understanding is the offset is just to clear the fenders or wheel well. Then again, I don't change offsets so I usually pay less attention and just find one that fits without adding spacers.

0D144F55-76FB-4C03-B73D-49D4641FF7B9.jpeg You’re right I should’ve made myself more clear. The pre-see on my profile pic needs to be updated. I am currently in the market for a Prius prime, and the car is great except for those tiny toy like wheels that are on it.

I currently own a Tesla model S that I’ll be selling to buy the Prime.

The only two things I want to do is to change the wheels out and black vinyl the roof.

What I’ll do is probably go to my local tire shop and look through the catalog on appropriate wheels for the Prime.

If you know anybody that wants a Tesla I’m selling mine for $40,000

Can you share why you want to sell Tesla for a Prime? Just curious

2B39882F-9171-4291-946A-B1AA01FC2CFF.jpeg It does seem like a backwards move doesn’t it? I actually love my Tesla and it’s great, and even realizing with a Prius prime I’m stepping down.

But this Tesla model S is a huge car… think of the old Dodge Intrepid.

I’m retired and do not use this Tesla the way it was designed for. I’ve only put about 800 miles on it since last November. This car needs to be driven and used. After careful consideration I realize that the Prius fits my needs a lot better.

I just posted on cargurus if you want to know more about it.
