I am driving a Prius V 5 with ATP and I love all the options along with the efficiency and reliability. Soon my wife will be taking over this vehicle and I will be shopping for another car for work commute. I like the features of both the Prius 4 and 4 touring but there isn't one that has both like the 17" wheels, moonroof, HUD, ATP, etc...all in one vehicle. I am hoping next year there will be a fully loaded Prius 5 top of the line available. I feel since I will be spending so much time in a vehicle, it is worth the extra to pay for the feel good factor.

Tideland is the best probably...he is trying to establish if Li battery excludes that option for weight reasons. For 2017 all bets are off who knows but there is the Prime plug-in coming also.

    Meanwhile nice lookin' 2016 v.

Toyota frequently limits options on the Prius to save weight. If you want them all, it is easier to add bigger wheels, than electronics.

If the Gen 3 Prius is anything to go by, I wouldn't hold your breath. The Gen 3 was never offered with 17" wheels and moonroof. (Unless the dealer installed an aftermarket set of wheels like SET did). You had to choose between 17" wheels, LED headlights, foglights and ATP (Five) or go with 15" wheels, halogen headlights, ugly grey blank foglight panel and solar panel moonroof (Four w/ Deluxe SRP).

It'll be easier for you to buy the Four w/ PCP and ATP and add aftermarket wheels. You'll only be missing the foglights and clearance lights.

Since the Prime should be available sometime this year and the 2017 Prius may be out by year end possibly, I guess I can wait for the new models and see what features will be available. As I recall, the Prius gen 3 had a top of the line 5 at some point.

It had the Five/V since inception in as a 2010 model. The thing was, the V/Five was the only model offered with the 17" wheels. If you look at the Gen 4, the Four Touring is essentially the "Five" but because Toyota decided to offer the 17" wheels to a wider range of audiences, they decided to market it as the "Touring" line and have a cheaper (Three Touring) model as well as the loaded Four Touring model. The Four is as high as it'll go.
