Tiny? Maybe as compared to the SUV. There are tiny cars out there on the roads. Lots of them. The Prius isn't one of them. In general the car is WAY bigger than I need, and certainly way bigger than any solo commuter needs. Of course my primary form of transportation is a bicycle, so maybe my view is skewed a bit?

 

If I am not mistaken, the Prius is classed as a mid-size car.

 

It may look small, but interior room is as roomy as the 2000 Maxima that I traded for it, actually better back seat room. You know what they say...... don't judge a book by its cover

 

My "SUV" is a good two feet shorter than my Prius. I guess that makes my Rav4 a micro car!

 

Outside dimensions are not used for classifying car sizes. The Prius is considered a mid-sized sedan based on interior size.

Many SUVs are huge on the outside, but have little usable room on the inside. Much of the volume is consumed by the frame, suspension, and huge tires.

I think that people get skewed view on its own after long time driving only in large SUVs. They do not even notice space and fuel inefficiency of them. I am an European, and yes I drove myself in first version of a Hummer 15 years ago. And first thing I noticed is, how spatially inefficient it is. It is maybe cool design to put additional armor for military use, but as a car it had less usable space inside than much smaller european cars of that time. And yes, Prius in not small car at all. But everything if of course relative.

 

My mother drives an Aviator ... Lincoln made TERRIBLE use of the interior space on the Aviator ... the Prius has more room seating wise imho.

It would be a big adjustment though ... you are right!

 

I must be missing something? I don't understand the significance of this post. I appears to reorder my unordered list, but there must be more to it than that. Help me out here.

Just imagine she is flying a nacreous or "mother-of-pearl" cloud. Generally observed at elevations between 21 and 30 kilometers above sea level. Brilliant, rare and beautiful.

 

Even driving three Prius's takes less gas and would seat 12 to 15.

There are other things to get use to:

1) A turn radius smaller than the whole mall parking lot.
2) The much higher level of discourse at Prius Chat (except FHOPol).
3) A vehicle that could be converted to a PHEV now.

 

an Aviator and a Prius are two completely different animals, period.

she would feel the same issues if she went to a Camry or Accord or (insert midsize name here)... And let's face it, it's all personal taste. I have never liked large vehicles; that's just me. It's an adjustment going from one class of vehicle to another. She'll get used to it. Especially when she learns to love the number of times she's driving her new car and there is no gas motor running at all!

 

I went from a quad cab 4x4...took some getting used to, but happy as hell with the Prius......right up until I hit that deer last night...ouch. Gas mileage, parking..it will grow on you. Pimp it up a bit!
