Why in the Hell didnt Toyota put Air Vents in the Back ????????????

Get a Camry Hybrid instead.

 

Well, there are two heater vents under the front seats, for heat.

The two vents in the middle of the dash should be pointed slightly up to cool the rear seats when using AC. The two side vents should be adjusted to not freeze the front seat occupants. It doesn't get that hot of here but that configuration works well for us.

I noticed this in mine when I had to use the rear seat yesterday here in S AZ. It has been super hot here for weeks, and so far in the front it has not been an issue. When I got in the back however, it was like there was no cooling there at all, very uncomfortable. However, after some finagling with the vents, my wife managed to get some flow to me, and it was OK. Luckily we don't have kids, and hardly ever take people back there, otherwise it would be a bit of a problem.

So does the Ford Fusion hybrid have rear A/C vents? Does any sedan?

 

Set the mode to divert air flow, maybe heat/defog? This'll save you getting hit with all the coldest air, and pump some through the underseat duct to rear zone, as well.

 

The rear foot registers are not only there for heat, but for A/C as well. Any airflow, regardless of temperature, for that matter.

 

maybe if you close the front vents, more will be diverted to the rear. we don't have a problem, but it's only 95 and high humidity here.

 

The Volvo that I traded in for my Gen II Prius had rear seat vents on the B-pillars and under the front seats.

 

Some more expensive (luxury) cars have a set of dedicated vents for the rear, usually on the back of the center cubby. Those are more visible (and more effective?) than the vents under the front seats.

Some even have rear-seat climate controls.

My 2004 Ford Explorer has these as well. And yes, they are more effective than the under-the-seat vents on the Prius.

 

I'll check our Ford Fusion plug-in for rear vents when the Son gets back from Ocean City MD on Monday afternoon.

 

I set the A/C to bi-level and it cools the rear passengers just fine. With a little adjustment to the dash vents to direct the air flow to the rear, you'll soon have the rear passengers complaining that it's too cold. It's all in the way you adjust the vents.

 

If you are in Arizona, no one either in the front or the back could complain it's too cold, period.
When you adjust the dash vent toward the rear, the front driver and passenger will not have enough cold air in such hot climate. The OP is asking for extra vent in the back to supplement the front vent.
The under the seat vent is too far away and not directed to the rea passenger, by the time the cold air reaches the rear passenger, it is warm air already.
