Why has Toyota not thought of an AWD Prius V?

    I´ve been an avid Rav4 fan. However, it changed when me and my wife decided a 7 seater was perfect for us thus the reason for us to get a Prius V. We are very satisfied w/ the V. My only question is why has Toyota not built an AWD for this awesome model?

    The Prius v is built on the regular Prius' platform and I believe the extra weight (about 100kg) is already pushing the limits of that chassis. I'm guessing the other reason is probably cost.

    Basically they knew the awd Venza was coming out and it has a similar form factor and price. There was a period where the camouflaged test Venza was mistaken as the new Prius v.

    It's just sad considering that for me it's built perfectly for the family. The only thing holding it back is its sluggishness. Coming from a Rav4 avid lover, the rav is very compressed inside. The Prius V is a very comfortable 7 seater.

    The v never moved past a problematic gen3 1.8L engine. Now the Venza and Rav hybrids have a much better 2.5L with very similar mpg and more power. Plus awd.

    I noticed that my 2017 Prius V four had this amusing sticker on the drivers door pillar. I assume that extra 12 lbs was the 8-way power seat. Guess I'll have to leave that bag of apples at home, we're too heavy:)

    Past examples of these reduced-load-capacity stickers have often been attributed to port-installed options and equipment.
