Why Clock Lose 1m repeatedly?

Not sure what you mean by dire.
Or normal, for that matter. Mine does too, I'm guessing cheap electronics.
It has nothing to do with the 12v health.
I set mine a minute ahead, so i don't have to reset as often.

 

A Rolex Submariner upper and lower specs. are (-5 to+7) seconds per day. If the watch goes beyond these specs. it is suggested that it be serviced and regulated. If your Rolex averages a -3 second loss per day that equates to roughly a 3 minute loss in 2 months. With all that being (facetiously) said, I would say you Prius clock is pretty accurate. Tic on.

 

My clock gains 2 minutes in 4 months. Glad to see that someone else is having a weird clock issue. Toyota's way of chewing away are warrantee time?..................LoL

Mine gains time as well. I thought Toyota was trying to cure me of my habit of being late all of the time.

Those are plugged into a home electrical system, not a supposedly 12 Volt but actually variable automobile one.

 

Because your utility company regulates the line frequency coming into your house for that exact reason. It's not being driven by an oscillator or crystal.

The clock in my DeLorean not only freezes randomly for many minutes at a time making it count slow, it also just randomly increases the hour digit instead of the hour digit some times. So it might go:

8:23
8:24
8:24
8:24
8:24
9:24
10:24
10:25
10:26

etc, all within the span of 8 minutes. Nobody should complain about any electrical vehicle problems until they have experienced the awesomeness of something Lucas designed.

 

Maybe it'll snap out of it as soon as you get to 88MPH... if it'll go that fast!

 

Time is defined by the transition properties of a cesium atom. Since none of us have this instrument, all of our time prices will differ. It's beneficial for us that the digital clock in the Prius is slower as the adjustments to match are forward only. It's easy to add a minute than to add 23 hours and 59 minutes.

My Prius has consistently gained time -- which is worse than losing time because the clock only adjusts forward. I'd say it is about a minute a month. Toyota actually sent me a new odometer/clock but it made no different. I have a Prius-driving friend who has the same problem. All I can say is what I keep on having to say: I've driven other cars and never have had this issue before.

 

For those with the NAV feature, too bad they couldn't have run a wire to the GPS clock for periodic updates. Oh, you can get to your GPS clock through the MFD battery voltage chicken dance. You all remember that one, right?

 

Be careful what you wish for. Some Nissan Leafs do this and there are 2 clocks in the car. The one on its MFD which is GPS controlled if you have navigation, and the other isn't. So while the GPS one is always correct, as the car loses or adds time like every car and as being discussed here, the two clocks become unsynchronized. Really really annoying to have 2 clocks in visual range that read differently... I'd rather they both be wrong by 2 minutes but show the same time.
