I just added a hitch mounted 10 gallon tank..
Anybody have some ideas where I can tie into the gas lines to feed into the main tank.

Because of remote work we have been driving extensively around the US and I’d like to reduce my gas stops.

    YIKES.
No,NO, BAD idea to try and permanently tie that into the main system.
If the main fuel pump is IN the gas tank, there is no good way to do that.

You drain the gas OUT of the aux. tank into a can and the POUR it into the main tank.

BUT.....unless you have a heavily reinforced tank made specifically for external fuel use.......your setup is DANGEROUS and probably illegal in most places. One rear end collision and......instant cremation.

What if it’s a feed into the fuel port? Gravity fed.

how is this any different than a jerry can mounted on the back of a jeep or a tank mounted on the rear end frame of a truck.

I get what your saying and from a risk perspective this is a stupid idea and I will 99% not do this.
But I like the thought of 1000 mile range

Just curious... remote enough to not have a chance to stop at a gas station in 500+ miles?

trade in for something with more range? is there such a thing?

i don't see why cutting a tee into the fuel line under the rear seat would be a problem...

If the added tank is not designed to be sealed & pressurized, there could be gasoline showers...

What exactly is this "fuel port" you talk about ?
Even the gas tank and filler neck are slightly pressurized on most modern cars, so there is no "gravity feed" anywhere.

You mean refueling while still driving? Planes can be refueled in flight.

Technically only military planes.......and a scant few others specifically designed for that.
Switching tanks in flight isn't quite the same as "refueling". :)
