We are going to buy a second Prius next spring - package IV with sunroof. Any idea when the 2011 Priuses will be available?
Most likely fall 2010. The 2010 model was released early because that was a total redesign. 2011 will be very minor changes if any, so Toyota has no reason to release it early. They'll release it in the fall like almost all other 2011 models.
Any answer you get is going to be speculation or an educated guess OP but not a definite answer. Sometimes it is September, sometimes October, and if you look at the 2006's they came out November even December. Then the 2010 came out in May/June. That all being said, the responses thus far are in the ballpark.
Most likely February 2010 in the USA and in 2011 in the rest of the world. It's a funny game the yank car industry likes to play. You can buy a car before it was made? Even though the same car will be on the road here it will be a 2010 if it is made in 2010. Our Australian released 2009 Prius looks and is just like the new Prius in the USA but with the steering wheel on the RIGHT side. I doubt next years Prius will be any different to this years.
The all new 2009 Matrix serves as a clue ... it came out in February of 2008 as a 2009 model and the 2010's were introduced on Toyota.com in September 2009. So, 2011 Prius will show up Fall of 2010.
