When did you purchase your Prius?

April 2005. Best decision I ever made. Well, one of the best.

 

Bought: July '06
Actually picked up: September

And tomorrow I'm going in for my very first oil change (yeah, I don't drive much).

 

2005 Prius ordered April 28, 2005, delivered September 10, 2005.

2007 Prius delivered February 10, 2007.

 

Delivered April 18, 2005. I got an early birthday present for her Friday night. I haven't installed it yet, so I'm not going to say what it is (in case she reads this thread). I'll post pictures ASAII (as soon as I install).

 

30 March 2006 for me. It had just arrived at the dealer's lot a couple days earlier, so I lucked out...no waiting.

 

While I got on one list in September '04 (and was told I couldn't get one until Feb '06), I didn't start to seriously look until April '05. I got one a couple of weeks later.

 

decided we wanted one in november 04, finally made it to the top of the waiting list in march 05.

man how things have changed in 2 years!

I decided I wanted a hybrid several years before I got my Prius. Finances didn't let me at that time. I went in circles between the Civic hybrid and the Prius through the Spring and several months of the Summer in '05. I finally decided to go for what I wanted (Damn the expense. I wanted Nav and every safety feature available, and either Driftwood Pearl or Seaside Pearl. I got the former, which would be better at not showing dirt anyway. It was actually my first choice). I started dealing in early August (I finally got the go ahead from my credit union). After I decided the Spokane dealers couldn't get what I wanted I started calling all over Eastern Washington, until I found a dealer who could get what I wanted. Only 90 miles away (Moses Lake), the dealer said he could get what I wanted. I made the deposit on Monday, and it arrived there by Wednesday (the 15th), and I picked it up that afternoon. "I lucked out." Did anyone say we couldn't be long winded? It changed quite a bit from Spring and August. Dealers were demanding several thousand over MSRP in May, and I got mine at MSRP.

We just purchased our 05, this month. It is very clean, 30k miles, and has the navigation system. We are already looking to trade it in on a new '07 touring pkg 5, if we can find one. Very new to this type of vehicle, first time our family has not owned a Lincoln since the '50's.

We really like the prius, and we want a new one with more options...we do miss some of the "toys" from the navigator, and understand the 07's have more options. We bought used to make sure we like it...and after a thousand miles...we love it!
