My best, considering all conditions and distance, was over 72 mpg indicated (probably 1-2 mpg less actual) on a 90 mile trip on the freeway, doing 50-55 mpg, on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon with the prevailing wind at my back. There was a good amount of hill-age, too- just glided down the back end. No drafting involved other than what naturally occurred.

My morning drive to work everyday is just under 10 miles, about 9.5

I normally get in the 72-77ish range
But highest for the 9.5 miles is 86 mpg.

I have a small hill at start, and then mostly flat where I stay in the EV range.

As for a distance with higher miles, 30miles is the furthest in one trip...
averaged 63mpg there, and 56 on the way back (same route, but hilly)

Tonight's fill up was premature, as I still had 3 blips left or est 171 mi.
435.0 mi. 62.1 mpg!!! I had to log that as the rain on the east coast here and traffic this week has really knocked me down from where I was about 200 mi back @ 67 mpg. Regardless I could not be more thriller right now as this is MY HIGHEST MPG EVER.... I left the Pump with a large smile after putting in $28.00 of fuel. :)

there's an entire sub-forum for the Prius C for fuel economy..:
Prius c Fuel Economy - PriusChat Forums

my best mpg... if you're only concerned about that number... is 99.9MPG on the MFD
then again.. i only traveled like 5 miles.

if you want to factor in distance.. well.. here's this one trip i made:

but the better one distance wise would be filling up in San Diego, traveling to Hayward, down to San Jose, and then back up to Hayward... (total 533.8 miles) on a single tank.. and it filled up 8.91 gallons..

that's 59.9mpg for 100% highway... including driving thru the Grapevine.

300 miles at 60 MPG means 5 gallons consumed. The trip took over 5 hours. That means Prius c sips less than a gallon of gas per hour!

i went down to like 30mph on the uphill climb thru the Grapevine, DWL with the rest of the semi-trucks.. and as fast as 70-75mph on the downhill portion.

otherwise, i was mostly hanging out around 50-60mph for the majority of the trip.

I've done NYC to DC and got about 62-64 mph each way. My absolute highest was a 20 mile trip in NYC at 70 mpg.

Since I got the car about two and a half years ago, I have averaged 53 mpg...but this spring, as the weather got warm, I have been averaging 60. I know the warm weather helps, but have not experienced this kind of increase before.

This is my best from work to home.
Warm climate, elevation from 660ft to 235ft, avg speed ~55-60mph following trailers, pulse and glide when possible, coasting downwind, no traffic.

I have yet to make the drive from SD to the bay area in my wife's Prius C. But I have had some concerns about going through the grapevine, especially the uphill part, as well as the 152 going into Gilroy/San Jose. So looks like the C will be able to climb those hills, but just at a much lower speed. You mentioned that the majority of your trip, you are going around 50 to 60, how long did it take you to go from SD to the bay area? Usually I'm going 80 between grapevine and 152, and that makes it an 8 hr trip from my house in SD to my parents in SJ. I would imagine if I'm going 50-60 most of the way, it takes 9-10 hrs?

well, the car is very well able to go at higher speeds on the uphill climb, but I only went slower for better mileage. the trip was about 9 hours.. averaging about 55 mph.

i drive a lot.. lol... i've driven 18 hrs straight before... it's no biggie.. (wait.. ok.. i had to stop to get gas... but that's it..)..

also.. it was during a cross country trip.. so... 18 hrs... for 3 days.. something like that.. averaged 38 mpg in the car i was driving (2011 Scion tC).. which btw EPA rating is like 31 for highway for the car.
